Hi Kevin, well, until my crash (I was knocked out and off my vectrix on 2nd Jan)I did various routes and these are my results.

I weigh 110kg or 18 stone including rucksack, helmet, protective clothing. Total mileage on the bike 3500. No problems.
My normal commute is from Grove near wantage to the police station in Oxford. There is mainly open road with 50mph speed limit and a small hill to get up and down on the outskirts of Oxford. Door to door mileage is 14.5. I can just get into and back from work leaving 2 bars without re-charging..driving into work at 40-45 mph. Back from work at the same speed and a little higher,50-55mph. Range about 35-38 miles in total. Tyres always kept 32 front 42 rear checked weekly. Recharged on a four hour timer as soon as I get back home. It drains 150 watts even when fully charged keeping the charger going, hence the timer.

My other shorter route takes me out of grove up over the Lambourne downs into lambourne and back at as near 60mph all the way, speed limited on the down hill stretches and using regen braking where possible. The round trip is 20 miles and it just makes it!! Mind you it is a steep long hill in both directions. Keeping the speed down to 30 one day I actually got 45 miles out of it. My bike is fitted with a windscreen extension and a top box.

The biggest drainer of range is acceleration. As I found one day shortly after I had the bike when I ran compleltley out of power 1 mile from home....it is heavy to push!!

As regards the accident she is being prosecuted for careless driving and the cost of parts is up to £3500 so far without labour..watch this space.
Hope that helps,
Regards
Ray..somewhat sore in places!!

Ray
