controler upgrade

I have a 07 cougar xr7 48v 600w scooter. 22mph. I add 1 battery and Bam 29mph. Now I bought a 800w 60v controller will it hook up. The wires on the new controler are thinner does that matter and more of them. Do I need a 60v charger after the change. How do I know what wires go where. I need help please markxr7

Offhand, having a higher voltage allows you to pass more power through a given wire gauge. That's why some countries have 220V mains.
