Lithium ION Battery Management

Lithium ION batteries have a strong dependency on being properly managed, with the charges balanced, and to ensure that they do not go above the high voltage cutoff, or below the low voltage cutoff. There are several specific Li-ION chemistries and they differ in these voltage points as well as behavior at the voltage points. With some Li-ION batteries if the battery falls below the LVC (low voltage cutoff) or above the HVC then the battery will explode. With others the battery will simply be damaged.
