Nissan and Nec have announced they will jointly develop and produce advanced Lithium Ion batteries for the hybrid and electric vehicle market. The new company is called Automotive Energy Supply Corporation, and they expect to have products to market by 2009.
...NEC and NEC TOKIN bring expertise in cell technology and battery manufacturing; while Nissan will focus on the cell stack for real-world application in electric-powered vehicles.
