KIPOINT 48V charger

FYI, I recently bought one of the 48V, 8A chargers made by KIPOINT of Taiwan. It cost $165 including shipping from Taiwan to the States, and it arrived in only four days. This is a very well-built charger with the desireable 3-stage charging profile, and it charges up my Evader scooter with its 48V, 45AH battery pack in a jiffy.

Compared to other 48V chargers with this kind of capability, it looks like a bargain.

Re: KIPOINT 48V charger

Is the voltage cutoff adjustable? This can be helpful in hot weather. Dropping the cutoff by .5V /battery (2V in this case) when the temperature is above 80F will help protect your batteries.

Does it have reverse-polarity protection? (Please don't reverse the leads to test!)

We look forward to performance reports.

The voltage cutoff is 55.1V, which doesn't appear to be adjustable but is low enough to be ok in hot weather. It has both pole reversal protection and short circuit protection.

I forgot to mentiion that I bought the charger on Ebay. They seem to offer them there with some frequency, and they have 10A and 20A versions of the same charger.
