Hello!

I have been reading the forum for a while and find it to be a great resource. As I have been waiting for the right electric scooter to purchase (technology / price / performance) I am wondering if anyone has seen the E-runner. I am seeing it pop up more and more on websites, but really only one review have been able to find.

If anyone has any insight I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Thx,

Rob

` ;) Welcome hossconcentric,
There was a lot of discussion about the Green E-Motor E-Runner 220 last year on the old Forum when several members attended the Palo Alto event
September 30th, 2006, but very little follow up. Maybe it was because the site went down shortly after that. It seemed to live up to the ads. I also notice they are now offering some limited support for Emax.

Re: E-Runner 220 Electric Scooter Anyone tried one or thoughts?

I was one of those who rode it @ the EV rally last fall. It's a well built bike, very sturdy etc. For comparison I have an EVT 4000 which is also a very sturdy and well built bike. In any case the GreenEMotor bikes are good.

One concern is the silicon batteries; there are mixed opinion of them.

BTW, I just discovered today their headquarters are a couple miles from my house. I went to the electronics surplus store (halted electronics) I prefer, and saw their sign as I pulled in. Their location is directly across from Halted (in Sunnyvale CA). I'd thought they were located in the north bay area, but looked on their web site and see the Benicia location is just a distributor. Anyway I rode by the front of their location, they're in business, they have a bunch of bikes in the showroom.

Re: E-Runner 220 Electric Scooter Anyone tried one or thoughts?

Thank you so much for the replies... I noticed they had some info on potential new batteries etc... also saw the Zappino from Zap. I really want something that can do 35+ BUT in Michigan it would have to be lisc. as a motorcycle... which really makes me pause.. anything over 1500 Watts is considered a motorcycle here.

Any other recommendations other then the EVT4000?

Thx,

Rob

I also got an e-mail from GreenE yesterday... lithium battery is available for 2500! (WOW)... drops the weight 80lbs and can take speeds up to high 40's... 50. Also extends the drive time.

They also have a limited edition but it must be running on the 1600Watt motor... pretty cool looking... has a backrest for a second passenger.

Do you have a link to the limited edition picture or model number?

"OUCH, for $2500 you could buy a second Scooter."

That high, but it's the lowest price I've seen yet. Last year, I estimated that just to simply match the existing 48-volt. 40AH capacity of my e-max would have cost at least $3500.

Wow $2500 for 60volts that is actually not that bad depending on how many AH. So how many AH is it ?? Thanks for any info. God Bless :)

OUCH 2 times, I suppose you gain some range and speed with them. The cost is close to the cost of a Vectrix isn't it?
:) They sure are pretty

Its looks almost identical to the maxxusa scooter on the new post. Also the rest of their scooters look very similar...

What new post?
If you buy enough, they will put what ever name you want on them. Basically the parts come from a few mfg, so they all look similar. It's cheaper to get bodies etc that way. I was told to pick a style, and they would make it any way I wanted.
In China they cost several hundred dollars, then you add the shipping and it doubles almost. They are normally not packed very well, so there is some shipping damage beyond the 10% parts they include. The rest is overhead and profit etc.
I'd say the local Dealer is the most important link in the chain, no matter what you purchase.

OT, but still. The Vectrix sells for GBP 6 990, sterling, including VAT. That's around USD 13 800. For sure it would be a lot cheaper if it was sold in US.

The three-wheel version is only a prototype. Vectrix have purchased an exclusive license to make the three-wheeler in electric version, from Piaggio. An ICE version of the three-wheeler sells for around USD 10 000 over here, http://www.mp3.piaggio.com/index_eng.html.

Re: E-Runner 220 Electric Scooter Anyone tried one or thoughts?

All is well over here. And no, they don't sell them in Sweden yet, unfortunately. They have stores in UK and Italy, and one company added them to their webshop (link in previous post). Technically, any scooter that is sold in EU could be imported quite easily to Sweden, but I will wait a while more for a store to open here. I also need to get a motorcycle license first. And it would feel a lot better to hear from someone who has actually signed up for a scooter, paid for it, got it delivered and is using it. There are no confirmed deliveries as far as I know. Time will tell.

Rolf

Re: E-Runner 220 Electric Scooter Anyone tried one or thoughts?

Just bought the e cruiser 220. So far I have ridden it to work and back (10miles total)to include some hills. It handles great. A little slow on the hills as compared to a gas Vespa but definitely can go 40-45mph on flatish grade. Note odometer is in kilometers per hour, voltage meter is useless so mark your "kilometers". Still have not had the time to max it out on regular terrain but it is good for short trips so far. It is sold as a motorized bicycle but you technically (in calif.) should have an M1 license since it does go over 40. I did drain the battery completely going up and down some steep hills. If you have to go up a steep hill to work or to go anywhere check out another bike. It significantly drains you battery even using low gear as recommended. Good storage under the seat but FULL SIZE helmet won't fit. Dealer is still a start up so you can't be hung up on the perfect color or no scratches on the body. They do have a 1 year warranty Its not a BMW but its fun! Recommend full face helmet and proper clothing. TINKER

Tinker,
You do have the Standard 2200 watt sealed brushless DC motor correct? What batteries did you get, 5X12 V /40A Silicon Lead-Acid battery (optional) Lithium-Ion battery for light weight and extended battery life?

Re: E-Runner 220 Electric Scooter Anyone tried one or thoughts?

`tinker,
The reason I asked about the Batteries, I've been told not to run SLA below 80%, so I suggest you don't keep pulling them all the way down below 80%.
I had a performance question, but I realized your a former Petrol Scooter user, and there is really no comparison.
How would you classify the hills, inclines, % of slope etc, and how much weight was the Scooter caring?
