new trac project

aproldan's picture

well guys, i'm working on my second tractor conversion.... this one will make me work alittle hard cause it needs alot of work.... it's all stripped down from it's gas motor and i pressure washed most of the grease off... so now i need to strip the panels off and old paint... for a new color... that's where it's going to be a little harder for me, cause i'm not a painter but i'll try my best... if you remember from the original site before it got infected i had completed my first tractor.. well the update on that one is, it's working great.. i have worked it hard hauling work fore about 4 weekends straight and took what i dished out... my little girl and i even take it for a ride in the neighborhood... haven't had any problems with just and i've put about 20hours on it(well my boy put half of it on,, he likes to ride it in the back)....... anyway i'm hoping this next one will have the same results as the first one......here's what the poor thing looks like right now,,, it's had a hard life.... i'm hoping to be finished it by the end of march.. but we'll see what happens.

Re: new trac project

cool project. If you don't fancy spray painting you can use brush applied paint. I've had really good results painting my van with metal paint with a roller. doesn't look so metalic as spray paint but much quicker. here's a friend of mines car he painted with old red oxide paint and a roller!

Re: new trac project

nice job and it has a good shine on it too, cool.
my boy wants me to spray it.. so what i've come up with cans but i'm going to use that safety yellow color. i want it to have a little sparkle to it but don't want to pay the 6 buck a can so i try this.. i sprayed a section with the safety yellow and then i used my little girls' sparkle hair spray with the paint was still wet . so the sparkles would dry on the paint... after it dried, i put it in the sun and walked around it and it was sparkling like diamonds.... i was happy with the test spot and the best part is the sparkles are very fine and muliple colors so you get a colorful spark rather then just one type... but before i commit to the yellow, i will test it with black and the sprakles... it may get a better effect with the black background.i have to keep the cost down considering the tractor came out of the trash... here is a pic of my first tractor i call it MURRAY ELE the first e is long e....... and here's a vid of my baby working lol

yes i do have one i made for cutting grass, and i have applied for a patent... btw very expensive to apply for a patent like a tractor.. i have not posted it yet til they approve my machine then i will post it... the ones i post on youtube are just hauler and having fun riding around my land, and i must say it's a lot of fun... i feel like a kid riding them, and for my little kids they feel like they are all grown up riding the tractors..... armando/evpb30mphclub
