'G' or 'PG' rating?

I'm looking at Young turn to Web sites without rules and it raises a variety of thoughts. The article is about how most "large" socializing web sites have a staff of monitors and usage guidelines saying that e.g. porn or other kinds of non-kid-safe content is not appropriate. But that other sites have sprung up which don't have those rules, and some kids who are "in the know" are flocking to those sites. It's just like boys who find a way to get Penthouse magazines even though they're underage.
As one of the perpetrators of this site .. er, did I say perpetrator, I meant to say instigator .. I know that any potential lawsuit or legal trouble would fall in my lap. I know that there's a growing chorus of voices in politics and elsewhere calling for control of social web sites. I tend to think of those people as prudes, but really have a hard time seeing it worth my time to fight that particular trend. I'm much more interested in building awareness about the dangers of continued addiction to fossil fuel, and the attractiveness of electric vehicles. I know there's others who get their willies fighting the prudes, so I'll leave that fight to them.
So that's the parameters of the consideration we've had over "acceptable content" on this site. On the one hand we're (mostly) adults and can handle a little bit of crudity .. on the other hand there's all those prudes, some of whom have laws that are either enacted or they're planning to get passed.
