Loose battery?

Hi all.

I'm new here, I just bought a 2ndhand Vectrix a couple of days ago. I'm very pleased with it, but there's one thing that's bothering me. It really crashes over bumps and it feels like something big at the front end is loose. I'm guessing it's the battery but have no idea how to get in and check. So any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Dan

Re: Loose battery?

Welcome to the forum!

Some people on this forum has similar problems, due to loose brackets underneath the front fairings. It is probably the bracket that holds the ICM (and the charger?) that has come loose and jumps and rattles over bumps.

It's a bit tricky to remove the fairings, you need a very long phillipshead screwdriver to reach a screw deep inside on each side.

The battery is almost certainly not causing the noise.

This information may be used entirely at your own risk.

There is always a way if there is no other way!

Re: Loose battery?

Thanks Mik.

I've read a lot of your posts already on charging etc, they've been very helpful in helping a new owner understand how these fascinating machines work. I'll take a look tomorrow at getting the fairing off.

Re: Loose battery?

Dan,
Welcome to the forum, I think it just the way the suspension works on the Vectrix.
The rear suspension setting is very stiff at the factory setting. If you are not that heavy you can adjust it softer.
By the way, the front rattles on my bike also over bumps.

The battery is pretty well stored. It seems unlikely that it came loose.

Once you go EV, Gas is history!

Re: Loose battery?

Thanks, it seems to have got better or perhaps I have just got used to it?

I'm loving the Vectrix and each ride is still an adventure...especially today when I spent the last 3 miles of my journey with the battery light on, no bars and 0 range!
