How to know if it's LiFePO4 and not Li-ion battery

Hi, I'm about to purchase a LiFePO4 battery over the internet but the picture of a Li-ion cell and LiFePO4 cell on their website look exactly the same. Is there a way to check once I get the battery which technology is it?

You need to know what you are buying. Doesn't the web site provide the manufacturer/model? If they don't, inquire, if they don't give a clear answer, don't buy it from them.

They say it´s LiFePO4 but Chinese factory I suspect they put the same battery (Li-ion) with different packaging (LiFeSO4). Is there any way to check some electrical variables to know what´s inside?

In concert with your question, how does one verify the AH rating of any type of Lithium pack?

Are these prismatic type? Cylindrical 18650 type? Once again, if you don't even know the name of the manufacturer, I wouldn't buy from them.

In response to the other post, the manufacturer should provide the capacity. Otherwise, you would need to measure the capacity by doing a discharging the pack from full to minimum voltage while taking with time elapsed, current and voltage measurements.

Thanks for your answers, It seems the question was not clear:
The question is: Are there any electric tests that can be done to a battery to differentiate a Li-ion from LiFePO4?
I guess the answer is Yes. Which are those?

If someone knows this answer would greatly appreciate some light on the subject.

the material of LiFePO4 battery decides that its cell voltage is 3.2v,but other Li-ion battery cell usually is 3.7v. So you can tell which one is LiFePO4 battery from the voltage of the battery pack.So a 24v LiFePO4 battery pack should have the voltage 25.6v with 8 LiFePO4 battery cells.
