Vectrix Li recharge process

Hi guys,

I was owner of a VX-1 NiMH version and when I plugged it for charging there were cooling fans for the battery switched on.

Now on the new VX-1 Li version, I only heard a fan for the runkie charger and another on for the mother board, but no one for the battery !!

The battery temperature can go till 45°C during recharging process.

Does someone with the same Vectrix could confirm this behaviour ?

Regards,
Olivier

Re: Vectrix Li recharge process

Hi Oliver

I own an Li+ and have observed the battery temp rising during charging. The highest temp I saw was 36°C, I didn't worry. But usually I plug it in over night and don't check on it. I thought the diminished noise level was a good thing, but not if it means shorter battery life of course.

Another related thing: while charging you see 5 temp values on the left display. Only the first one changes, the other four always read 20°C. That can't be right.

For me, the first 4 temp values change and reach 35°C or even 40°C for
two of them.
The last one (A) is the ambient temperature.
Perhaps some of your temp sensors aren't connected correctly !?

Boy that doesn't sound promising...
Either build quality problems or software problems.
I guess a new product is not so easy to get right immediately

It's also possible that the connection at the interconnects is poor.

Though if that were the case, the temperature rise during riding would be much greater.
