800x600px-LL-vectrix-wbg.jpgLocal motorcycle dealer wants to stop selling Vectrix and asked me to buy their stock.
I only want one bike, so I am looking for buyers who want a new Vectrix and we buy them together, as the dealer wants.
The price will likely be half the newprice of $7000 after rebate.
That means you pay $4400 and get back $900 from the California Clean Vehicle Rebate Program (CVRP)
so you end up paying $3500. These are never titled, so you get an unused bike in new condition.
I need to get more details from the dealer, all I know is that these are 1-year old stock of the NiMH type Vectrix
which is good because NiMH can take it to be neglected for a year without problem unlike the newer Lithium types.
Of course I will make sure that they are tested before delivery.
Power of the bike is the same 20kW so it has good acceleration and is allowed on the Freeway, you need M1 license to ride it.
Let me know if you are interested. I am in San Francisco Bay Area.

I would get hold of the VIN number - The majority of nimh bikes were manufactured in 2007

That doesn't really matter as all the batteries I have seen have 2003 manufacture date codes

be aware the bike drams 7mA continuously while off.

This eventually causes the pack voltage to drain to 0V (or close to)

While the pack voltage is 0V, individual cell voltages range from 1.1v (good) to -0.2V or -1.3V (bad - depending upon which stage of reversal the cell is in).

The reversed cells have substantially elevated self discharge if the pack is left at 0V for months

If the bikes can still turn on, they will be fine

Hi Matt,
Where can I decode the VIN? I received it from the dealer.
Thanks for the pack info. I am aware of the always-on behavior of the Vectrix which will slowly drain any pack, as well as the problem with long series strings. I have had an EV where I installed a 312V nominal pack for several years...
(The controller could actually go up to an unbelievable 700V input!)

Never mind, I found the description of the decoding of the (older) VINs:

I think that's a mistake. They are all 2006 or 2007 dates.

E.g.: Cell Serial Number: C 3008 061207 000492

C3008 = type of battery
061207 = 2006-12-07
000492 = number of cell (or module)
