You might take the effort to spell the name right, at least. A very quick web search got me the name, specs, and reviews at the bottom of the page. http://www.provenpowersports.com/product/30/TaoTao-Adult-500W-Electric-Moped-Scooter-ATE-502M

Re: tao tao 502 electric scooter

Thank You on my spelling. It took me along time to get signed in as a new member. My question is does anyone know anything good or bad about the ATE 502m Taotao 48v 500watt electric scooter is it junk or a good scooter & are parts easy to get for it....I would like to add a battery to make it 60 volts so I will need a 60 volt controller.. Anything else ???? HELP HERE PLEASE & Is there a good place to buy parts... THANK YOU TO ANYONE FOR YOUR HELP......

Re: tao tao 502 electric scooter

Asking if there's a good Chinese scooter is like asking if there's a good person in your local biker gang. Maybe, but if so they are outnumbered by the not-so-good. TaoTao is a known brand, mainly for their gas scooters. They aren't considered 'premium' even by Chinese standards, but they will probably still be in business in six months. Your best bet is to see if you can find a local dealer to support the warranty, because even the less defective Chinese scooters usually have *something* wrong with them. My advice is to only buy one if you can afford to waste the money, and only over-volt it if the wiring looks like it can handle it - which is not usually the case. You can buy controllers from places like Kelly Controls - you won't find a factory upgrade.
