Neodymium swap in 400w kollmorgen motor?

After doing a external controller swap I'll be ditching one of the two koll motors on my bike. With the extra I'm going to try a neodymium magnet swap. According to this page http://bobmcree.com/Kollmorgen_motors.html the 400w koll has a cylindrical magnet with 18 poles glued to a steel core. Would these magnet work for it? http://www.emovendo.net/magnets/motor-magnets/ if I could find a set of 18 multi curved bar magnets the same ID and roughly the same OD as the stock magnet could I glue them to the steel core? I don't get how it cold have 18 poles and work. I'm new to brushless. Thanks -Ryan.
