battery charger for E-Max Sport electric scooter
I'm looking for a battery charger for my E-Max Sport scooter. The 2 chargers that came with it malfunctioned. The charger is 48 volt with a 3-prong plug.
Yup, you have lots of plugs now, so any charger the right voltage will work. I like a 4 amp one I got at monsterscooterparts a lot. it's quicker.
:) thanks. i'll check it out!
Is it the later version of e-max charger that comes in a finned aluminum case?
The older e-max chargers (blue plastic case) can often be be fixed and made reliable fairly easily.
I have been fixing them for others for a while.

the smallest of the new chargers is 15A.
the new chargers use andreson connectors, where as the ports for the old emax use IEC power plugs.
tbh, the new emax chargers aren't any better than say the kipoint ones (but still a huge improvement over the original emax chargers).

hiya,
when the charger that came with my emax gave up the ghost, i bought one of these:
ebay item (Lead Acid Battery Charger ( 10Amp,48Vdc,230Vac )) and wired the old standard IEC prong to it.
i would highly recommend getting a battery balancer or individual chargers for the batteries if you intend to stick with lead acid batteries though. the above charger will charge lithium no worries (mine does atm) as long as you have a bms. depends on your plans as to whether this is useful though.
