Isle of man motorcycle race

A XM 5000 look like is filed as the 24th starter for June 12th Isle of Man motorcycle race

The engine has 6 kW peak, the controller is a German construction

Where else is this wheel hub engine used?

Surprise at the charger, it looked like the charger of the IO-Scooter lithium

Last year, IO-Scooter claimed, that this charger is developt special for IO-Scooter, now I see the same charger in an Innoscooter.

Is this charger known?

Re: Isle of man motorcycle race

Certainly resembles an XM-5000li, so possibly made at the same factory?

Who entered it, and who is riding it?

Is the "race" only 61 km long?

I would like to chat with the owner about a possible modification to significantly (I think) improve their chances.

Cheers, Gary

What bike is the "14-cell" charger associated with?

It's only 1 times the Isle of Man

A problem is the 16" minimum rim requirement. They have to modify

I wrote up the TTXGP race which should give an idea what he's talking about. (TTXGP is the race on the Isle of Man)

There are two teams from Germany, two bikes from eRockit and one from XXL. I have links to both those teams.

At the TTXGP announcement in March the head guy (whose name I've forgotten) did describe plans to run more of these races, at more places than the TT race on the Isle of Man. I would think further races would not be called TTXGP because TT is associated with the specific race on the Isle of Man.

In the meantime Zero Motorcycles recently held an electric motorcycle race which I covered. Neal Saiki said during the interview they wish to sponsor more races, and open up their races to bikes from other manufacturers or home-built bikes.

Also Zero Motorcycles and Quantya recently (?last week?) held a race in Las Vegas.

And of course there is a long standing organization, the National Electric Drag Racing Association, that does EV drag races: http://nedra.com/
