Ebike inline fuse(s) question

Greetings,

Sorry if this question is obvious but I'm new to ebiking and know nothing of wiring. I'm currently building an ebike, just waiting on my ping battery which should arrive in about a week. My question is, if the ping battery doesn't already have a fuse on it what would you suggest. I've ordered a few items from powerwerx and see they have inline fuses available with anderson powerpoles already attached. My motor is 48V/800w and the ping battery is 48v/20ah. The controller that came with the battery is not marked as far as a hint to what size fuse I should use. Another question is do I only need one fuse attached to the positive wire coming out of the battery and/or do I need on on the neg. wire?

Thanks in advance.
