Grand renaming

Those who use the forum pages to navigate this site may notice some name changes today. The idea is to make the forum names a little more obvious not just to y'all who browse the forum regularly, but to newcomers, and to the search engines. The names all have the same meaning, just using different words.

Forum upgraded to drupal 6

Hi all, I have done the conversion to drupal 6 (the latest version).

I have a list of issues I see to take care of, in the morning.

If you see any issues let me know on this thread.

Upgrading the site tonight

Hi, I have been putting this off for too long. Tonight I'll be taking the site down for an upgrade to the latest version of the Drupal software. Shutdown time will be at 8pm Pacific time and take as long as it takes. It should be up the next morning but there may be hiccups over the next few days as I iron things out.

I did a trial run conversion a month or so ago.

New server

Some of you will have noticed that V is For Voltage was offline overnight. After a long study the site has been moved to a new server and the software was placed offline for the move.

The new server should be a) providing the same service, but b) faster, c) more reliable

If you tweet you know what twitter is.

Your postings on this site can be autotweeted onto twitter. To enable this click on "My Account" and then "Edit". In that screen you'll find settings for your twitter account.

Once entered anything you do on this site will become tweets.

V is for Voltage Policy change (please read)

The Moderation team on V is for Voltage has seen the need to clarify part of the Forum Policies. With that in mind we have made a change to policy number 7 which now reads as follows;

New Policy wrote:

7. Community members may not use V is for Voltage Forums for personal conflicts, or to contact vendors/dealers in open forums. However as long as the member voices the facts they may describe negative experiences with vendors/dealers to inform our members. Please be honest, just the facts without name calling or foul language. We also encourage members to post positive experiences with vendors as well.

Thanks to all our members for their continued support of V is for Voltage and all the great reports and information they have placed on the forum good and bad. Please continue to share with us all and help inform our members. This will also help the vendors/dealers know what we all want, affordable, reliable, green transportation, along with some speed and range.

Thanks
Chas S.

Ignorability

Does some V member drive you up the wall and you want to never see their rantings and ravings ever again? Click 'Ignore user' and they disappear into the ether.

It's a new feature, just installed.
