Any Current Motor Company Scooters Still Running?

Annual (or so) check in. I Still use mine for commuting and errands every day, especially with our California-like rainless early summer weather this year...

Totally aside that it is an EV, I am coming to realize that the use of two wheels for practical and quiet day to day transportation rather than just some kind of noisy ego-statement is even more of a radical act than it was in 2011 when I put the scooter into service.

Shout-out to any CuMoCo Owners

This is just a quasi-annual shout-out to any Current Motor Company C124 or C130 owners if there are any left!

My C124 is still running fine since its new pack in 2018.

RIP Current Motor Company

The Current Motor Company has been out of the business of selling their scooters to the consumer for a few years now They have been focusing on their hare-brained "mini-fleet-in-a-solar-shipping-container" product - I would not be surprised of they did not finding a single customer for them.

But I noticed that their website has been taken down and nothing on their Facebook Page from anyone in Current Motor since October 2017.

So I think we can make it official and declare CuMoCo dead-dead-dead.

New Battery Pack in My CuMoCo C124

I just completed an installation of 24 new 60AH GBS cells in my 7 year old C124 and it is running fine. The old cells were still serviceable but power and range was suffering.

Battery not charging

I have an old test pilot C130 that has given me nothing but trouble since I bought it. Latest is 2 short, 5 long error code that has disabled the bike. I have replaced every temp sensor to no avail.

So, I picked up a broken down superscooter with the digital display (that was never really finished) and swapped rear wheel motors.

Unfortunately, I left the breaker and winter switch AND the ignition key on for several months (maybe a year) while I attended to more pressing matters.

Current Motor Owners Survey for 2016?

I guess it is time to check if there are any running Current Motor Company Scooters still out there.

BMS for C124 or C130?

I'm still checking some things, but I may need a BMS for a C124. The larger of the two BMS modules of a C130 may work too. If you have an old Current Scooter that you are thinking about junking, please reply.

Hi PJD,

I just created an account on this forum last week and it says I'm not allowed to post new content. Apparently I can't post replies either, or at least mine never showed up.

Current Motor Owners Survey

As it becomes more apparent that Current Motor Company (CuMoCo) may no longer be providing support, not to mention service for the C-series - I think it is important to try to determine how many owners are affected by this. My general impression is that there were less than 50 of the C-Series sold - but maybe I'm way off. If anyone has any ideas how this might be determined (via VIN databases or such) please chime in.

Checking power to the motor

Hi all,

My C-124 quit on me the other day, fortunately less than a mile from work. Basically, I have power from the batteries (i.e. lights work), but the motor does not engage. I half suspect the throttle, since it's been a bit flaky over the past few months, but I was wondering what might be the best way to diagnose this problem. I have a volt meter but am unsure which wires to test. Anyone have any tips for this issue?

Many thanks,
Jeff
