Z-20 Replacement Charger Question

My Z20's second OEM charger died, and I was told to get a generic replacement. It looks like the XLR plug is a standard, so no rewiring will be needed.
My question is what voltage should I get a 60V or 72V charger. I would have assumed 60V as it's a 60V (12Vx5)system, but the local electric scooter shop told me 72V as the batteries are above 12v each when fully charged.

thanks for the help,

sulfator?

I am a new Z20 owner and I have set up bank charging per recommendations in these forums. it is working like a charm. One concern I have is that in the dropping of the Soneil string charger, desulfation action is lost. anyone know of an applicable battery desulfator (60 volts nominal) that would work with the Z bikes?

R-30 Available

Hello Friends,
I am hoping to part ways with my R-30. It won't take much for me to get rid of it. I don't have the time or energy to mess around with all of the problems it has experienced. I am located in Ithaca, NY and am willing to drive a reasonable distance to meet you with it. Thanks.

Where can I purchase a replacement throttle for my R30 Scooter?

I have tried every dealer/repair/etc. store in the USA and Canada that I can find... and no-one seems to know where to buy a new throttle assembly for the R30 EVT America scooter. Since the handlebar OD is over the standard 7/8", the off-the-shelf assemblies won't work. HELP please!

need new controller

Well at least I know whats going on. When I first got the bike I had the controller fail in teh first 20 miles and got a new one from EVT (6 months later) but got one, swapped it out and it has run fine for 3 years and 2700 miles, until now. I ran it in hot weather and as fast as it could go for about 10 miles and the next day it started acting up, jumping, lurching and growling on starts. It sort of moves but this is exactly what it did right before the controller failed last time.

So my question is what controller should I put in it now?

Which one and from where?

R30 controller replacement

Hi everyone, just purchased a R30 off craigslist-$600-167KM. I put another 100+km on it with no problems. Ran great, fun to ride! Rode it to the local watering hole, would not run when it was time to leave! Problem was loose wire at the circuit breaker, easy to fix. Rode about 4 miles the next day and it quit while was riding it. working fine, let off throttle, no response when I throttled up again! I have checked everthing my limited knowledge has allowed. Voltage 65+, throttle test good, relay seems to be working. All lights, kill switch working.

DC/DC converter is on all the time

I'd been wondering why the batteries drain so fast while the scooter is sitting in my garage, so I decided to do some investigation. The circuit diagram shows the DC/DC converter is on whenever the breaker is on. I also have a PakTracker, so that will also draw some current. After a full charge with the breaker OFF, I dropped from 64.5 volts to 64.1 volts after 4 days. Trying the same thing with the breaker ON dropped the voltage by the same amount in only 4 hours! So from now on I will turn off the breaker whenever the scooter will sit for more than an hour.

Need help with an R-20. It won't drive but power seems to be working normally

I acquired an r-20 today and I don't really know much about how it works or circuits in general, although I am mechanically inclined so I can learn. Here is what I know about this particular scooter:

It has been in two accidents...apparently both occured as the driver was stopped and tried to dismount, at which point she inadvertently twisted the throttle and the scooter took off. So these were low speed accidents.

This scooter lived near a bay, so salt water in the air was an issue (in a dry climate now).
