E-Max

I have the following spare parts from an Emax/Vmoto 90s:

2 x motor controllers (old style, so max speed of 55kmh)
1 x dc-dc
1 x connector box
1 x speedo cluster

I have a E Max or V moto 120 Silicone battery type and was trying to figure out the Regen thing. Reverse seems to work nicely. Trip odometer is goofy for it goes backwards sometimes but regen is little or nonexistant. My VX-1 can stop real fast by Regen but my 120S has no braking power if any at all on Regen. Brakes work real fine though. Is there a Potentiometer to tweak some where? I believe the Regen is same as reverse by using little green button which is hard to use.

I have not ridden mine in a LONG time. I know the original silicon battery are DEAD. However I am thinking of bringing it up again in the next year using 60volt PING PING lithium battery. However I got some questions since I have been out of it for so long:

I was wondering what the little green button is for on V - Moto, eMax, maybe VX-2 scooter. Behind the front left lever near brake lever is a tiny green button when pressed is shows a charging process and voltage goes upto 50 or more volts but no decrease in speed going down hill. My VX-1 going down a steep hill will try to stop the bike and allow recharge of pack I suppose. But there appears to be no braking just a small amount of voltage increase.

I'm the new owner of a 2006 E-max Sport. I have the drum brake "squeal" that I read can be cured by cutting a diagonal groove across the shoe. Does anyone have a dis-assembly diagram or procedure for getting at the shoe to perform this fix?

For any of you with an old Emax, or its decendents (Kasea, Emoto?), I followed the procedures listed on this site for improving the scooter's performance. Specifically, I switched to lithium-ion batteries, upped the voltage to 60v, and upped the current to about 100 amps. Now the machine has good speed and acceleration and is much more useful, safe, and fun to ride. If you still have lead-acid batteries in one of these machines, I encourage you to give the modifications pioneered here (Visforvoltage) a try.

I get occasional requests for Manuals and wiring diagrams for the old GGC E-max. These are probably applicable to similar 2000 watt e-scooters under other brand labels too. I have put them up on a file sharing site here:
