Hi, I have been stalking the forum for some time and I can now give you a summary of my background and plunge into the EV world.
I am located in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. I have been playing around in grass roots motorsport for about 12 years. Generally I compete in Autocross, Khanacross, Motorkhana, Hill Climbs and sprints. With the exception of the sprints all these sports are a time trial involving a standing start. I saw a Fiat Turbo Diesel doing quite well so I figured if torque is an advantage then electric motors are the way to go.
Red Bull Global Rallycross will continue to position itself at the forefront of motorsport technology with the creation of an all-electric vehicle series for the 2018 season. Electric vehicles will be added to Red Bull GRC race weekends as a distinct, standalone series, joining the Supercar and GRC Lites classes in the series’ race program. Red Bull GRC, in conjunction with USAC (United States Auto Club), will serve as the governing body for the new series.

Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG) introduces its new TMG EV P002 high-performance electric vehicle (EV) ahead of its demonstration at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado, US on July 8, 2012. Based on a Radical chassis, the TMG EV P002 has a predicted top speed of 240 km/h in Pikes Peak configuration with a combined maximum power output of 350 kW from its two axial flux motors. Last year, TMG set the EV lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the record still stands today.
The 2012 TT ZERO ran today at 3:40 PM GMT on the Isle of Man. It was a field of 9 electric motorcycles at the TT ZERO starting line, but only four finished the race.
I'm at the Infineon Raceway for the 2012 TTXGP North America season opener race. It's day one of the weekend, and the teams have gathered at the track, and a practice round has been run. The big news is that Steve Atlas was hurt during the practice round and the Brammo Empulse RR was damaged badly enough it might not race this weekend.
THe teams and riders are: Team Icon Brammo (Steve Atlas riding), Lightning Motorcycles (Michael Barnes and Tim Hunt riding), Zero Motorcycles (Kenyon Kluge, Jason Lauritzen, Jennifer Lauritzen, and Martin Szwarc riding)
