EFUN based scooters such as are sold by RMartinBikes

As many of us have experienced, sometimes the EVD gets in a "low power mode". The solution is just to stop and turn the bike off/on. This has always fixed this problem for me. However not any more. It is permanently stuck in this "low power mode". I replaced the batteries 8 months ago and it has worked fine up until now. That is to say, the off/on trick continued to work when it occasionally got into this mode. But now it is stuck in this mode.
What could the problem be?

I'm still riding mine. Just curious if anyone else is.
Just had to order new batteries again to the tune of $830. They only last about 2.5 years it seems.

Hi
The basic summary of my problem is that I switch the trip switch on and the motor gets a little jolt and then trips out again. Any ideas for fixing?
Prior to this had a loose connection and was cutting out repeatedly - occasionally leading to a weird grunting noise from the motor. After a large grunt the problem, above, started.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Cheers
Piers

I've just come back from China. I had not realised but they have banned all petrol driven mopeds from the streets of the cities so they are ALL electric thousands of them. The build quality seems to have gone up from the one I purchased a few years ago. Having arrived from Jakarta, which swarms with polluting noisy motorbikes, it was just really great to see I literally couldn't believe my eyes and ears.

Hello,
I got a R-MARTIN EVD 2007 that need to fix. But I guess any Efun share the same controller base so please give me what you have!
Could someone provide a copy of the user manual? Mostly the page with error code !
Or any error code you know yet to start to build a base, please.

I have an RMartin EVD VRLA. After parking it today I noticed smoke pouring out of the opening in the plastic near the right handlebar. After letting the scooter cool down and after the smoke literally cleared I opened up the front end. It seems some part related to the ignition burnt out. See photos below. First pic shows it in the bike before I removed it. Remaining pics show the single removed part from different perspectives.
So, what is this part called and where can I find a replacement?

Wanted to let the group know that in spite of getting the Current Motors C130, I kept the EVD, for various reasons, and got a 12A charger. I can state that this has really, as expected, cut the charging time down to usable duration. I bought it from Cloud Electric, and they delivered it quickly, answered questions, and were not that nice - but who cares! Give me competent over nice. Highly recommended upgrade at 239....ish dollars shipped, I think. Hey what other easy mod can you do that will increase the bikes utility by double ???

Hello,
My RMartin EVD VRLA will soon need new batts I suspect. I'd like to get Lifepo4s instead of VRLAs so that I can go more years without having to replace the batts again. But I'd like to do this as cheaply as possible. I'm assuming I won't need a new charger, controller, dc/dc converter, or motor if I get 12volt/50ah Lifepo4 battery packs? Hopefully that is true. I understand however that I would want a BMS for the Lifepo4s.

Hey all,
I've been trying to find a few parts for an EVD-Li. Most of the chassis and body is the same as the Jonway YY150T-19 or YY250T-19. But if anyone has good sources for parts as well as maybe EVD specific stuff, I'd love to hear about it. The Jonway's front brakes look different according to YY150T-19.pdf.
Brakes: Are front and rear pads the same size? It looks like it from the outside, and I think I have the replacement number for the rear.

I usually wire the fuse out of my small scooters
The fuse was semi external on this ebike so when I unsoldered it from the 36v SLA box it that left two wires showing .... that could easily be used to add an extra cell in line.
Tried one 10amphr Headway cell (3,3v extra) then 2 cells (6.6v extra) and it did give the scooter quite a boost on top speed and hill climbing!
The headway cells store easily under the seat.
