Vehicles: Electric Scooter, looks very similar to XB-500. Originally fitted with 200 Watt (too comply with Australian road rules!) and 36 Volt motor. Increased to 48 Volt, but opening controller to do shunt mod wrecked the controller. Motor was replaced with an unmarked 'nominal' 500 watt, 48 Volt motor. Increased to 60 volts its much more practical. As original 36 volt lights and horn no longer work, have replaced them with 12 volt LEDs and a horn beeper, all powered by a very small 1.3 A/h SLA (I do have a small 60 to 12 V converter DC-DC on the shelf, don't know if I trust it though). Replaced rear tyre with a 'fat' 3 inch wide tyre.
October 2009 - have aquired an EMAX sport from a Forum member (thankyou 'antiscab'!) that needs some restoration (new controller and batteries) - should be a good project!
