Z-20a front cover removal

Could someone tell me how to remove the front cover of the Z-20a?

Re: Z-20a front cover removal

OK, I got the Z20b front cover off and disabled the turn signal screecher. If you just unplug the unit, the turn signals will not work. It involves unplugging the unit, taking out the small circuit board and unsoldering the noise maker. Pretty easy once the front cover is off if you know how to solder even a little. If anyone wants more details, let me know.

I will document how to take off the front cover tomorrow. Short version: you must remove the center section with the lights first by the removing bottom lip, then pushing the center section upward - it's held only by tabs and the bottom lip screws.

I have all of the covers off of the scooter now and found a missing nut, and several very loose screws. Some other problems too I will document.

Astar,

As much detail as you can put up regarding disassembling, modifying and re-assembling the z-20b would be appreciated. I have a z-20b and it is dead, so I know I'll have to be mucking with it sooner or later. I am in the market for a multimeter and am waiting for EVTA to get back to me about getting a new controller.

For the record, I'd love to know how to get that turn beeping off.

thanks.

While mine still isn't moving (bad controller) I did tape over the blinker noise maker. It is much better now ;)

Ditto on the detail request. I know very little about soldiering other than the standing up straight and saluting.

Thanks for blazing the trail Astar.

Brock,

Is the blinker noise maker the one on the right (as you face the front of the bike)? I put my hand over it, but it barely muted it. I was wondering if I was looking at the wrong one.

I think mine was just off to the right (right hand, throttle side) side from center. I just tuned it on and let it beep and then wrapped electrical tape around it until it was tolerable. I figure it might be handy to hear something so I am not riding around with my blinker on forever.
