About scooter diag

I want to learn how to change the vectrix Firmware.
I have the Peak canbus USB adpater.
I have non terminated cable.
I have installed Peak's drivers on Wxp sytem. The red light of the adapter turned on.
I started scooterdiag 2.1. The red light started blinking regularly.
Everything seems ready to plug the Peak adapter to the vectrix.
But before plugging, I'd rather prefer to ask to the vectrix masters:
Is there any potential issue with drivers, voltage spikes that may harm the computer, or any useful tips?
Thank you,
R

The scootdiag works properly. I tried with my vewctrix and the other one involved in a car accident.
In both vectrix the scooterdia cannot diplay de firmware version, is there a problem with some driver?

That's a bug in the scooter diag version 2.1

I use version 1.1 for doing firmware updates, as that bug is not there in that version

2.1 is better for everything else though

Re: About scooter diag

Thanks!
This is the kind of info which is pretty difficult to find inside the 20.000 messages of this forum!
I'm posting some pictures about the faulty display:

Anybody experienced that kind of problem? (display not working)

Re: About scooter diag

Looks like the display has failed and isnt programmable.

I killed one when my laptop died halfway through programming the display.

I simply bought another and re-programmed again.

All went well 2nd time around.

You dont say however if you had the issue before programming it or after .

Re: About scooter diag

I imagine everything can fail because of an accident - how hard did it get hit !

If it didn't work from the accident onwards i'd say (ala mythbusters) 'there's your problem'

Re: About scooter diag

thank's MATT.
I've been told that 2.0 also works fine.
If anybody can send me a copy of scooterdiag 1.1 or 2.0 I'll be very grateful.
thanks!

Re: About scooter diag

Thank you everybody for your help!
I tried to update the firmware with Scooterdiag 1.1 and 2.0. They display the firmware version correctly, but when selecting the hex file to update, windows gives an error and closes the program. This is quite annoying, any thoughts about how to overcome this problem?

Re: About scooter diag

I believe I am having a similar problem, I can open the software with everything plugged in, and see nothing in terms of data on the program, but when I turn the key on, I get to see a couple seconds of data before the program closes. I am using revision 1.0.2.1
