Do you attached your pedals in California?

So I was pulled over for the first time on my XB-600 scooter and the cop pulled out the vehicle code and pointed to the part about "fully operative pedals". For all the clever minds out there, is there anyway to interpret this other than having to have the pedals on all of the time?

Does anybody in California ride around with the pedals attached or have had any problems with their local police?

any one near Dayton, Ohio?

I've been reading about Bionx, Chrystalyte, and Stokemonkeys for a few years now but I've never seen one up close. Anyone near Dayton? Columbus? Cincinnati? Seems like all the electric bikes are out west or east. Sad

Help choosing e-assist components? (build project brainstorming) Options

I looked into building an e-bike a while ago, and the technology just
wasn’t there yet. A few years have gone by, and on the RC front
amazing progress has been made. I’m not sure how this has transferred
to E-Bikes yet.

What I’d like to do is create a bike that can maintain 20MPH for at
least 40 miles on it’s own. I will end up assisting it, but I like to
have the overhead. I also don’t want to arrive at many destinations
all sweaty.

Kit for slower conditions!?

Hey,
Thanks for the replys to my previous post!

EV Ebike Troubleshoot

I just bought a 24v Ebike and I can't seem to get it going. It drove fine before I loaded it into the car. Now with battery hooked up it runs the tail light constantly, runs it's normal diag., but zero acceleration (no activity at all). Any ideas? I've charged the battery up - the diag. light on the bike's shifter post shows full.
Help - I'd like to use the thing! It ran before I spent $450!
Thanks,
Matt

Newb here! Cheaper to build wheel or buy a kit!?

Hi All,
sorry i'm a newbie! i would appreciate any advice from the more experienced folks on whether i'd save much on building my own front wheel with hub motor (am able to build bike wheels etc) and gather up the rest of the bits, or if i'd be better off to just get a full kit!? Is there a kit with just the hub and everything else for much less!..
Thanking you, great exciting forum it is here!..

What is the best 48 volt rear hub set up for a 35 mph bike?

I want to build a 48/60 volt suspension bike that will do 30-35 mph. What is the most reliable, fastest rear hub motor/controller setup? I will be using 26'wheels. Randel Hanford Ca.

Brake Levers

Hi,

I recently purchased a pair of inhibit brake levers. I thought they would each have some sort of reed switch arrangment and I would wire them in series and when a lever was pulled it would cut power. I was planning on wiring the coil side of a relay in this series for a brake light.

Controller went poof

I have a Strong GTS ebike (crappy thing) 36 volt SLA geared hub brushed motor (don't know the manufacturer, made in France and here is French website http://www.velo-electrique.com/Pages/repprod7.htm. I'm trying to make the thing work to donate it to a high school for a project they have.

I have gone through two controllers. I'm sure I have the wiring correct. The first time I saw smoke was when I applied throttle.
