Noob Project

Hello everyone, I have been doing extensive research for about a month now and have just ordered everything to start my electro bike project. I should start getting my shipments this friday. I will be documenting everything here to help others and get help along the way. Here are the things I have picked up for the project:

reached/almost/ 10 000km

My Tidal Force bike
will reach incredible 10 000km this week.
i WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF ODOMETER.
It has probably already reached 10 000km , because couple of times in winter my CAteye bike computer didn't work on very cold mornings.
Motor was never opened, I of course don't have original battery anymore and famous data cable constantly penetrated by water due to faulty design/ which caused many owners so much bad blood/weekest part of TF bike/.
I run on Milwaukee packs for almost a year.

Is a 200W E-bike worth the hassle???

Any ideas on how to legally use a (useful) E-bike on this part of the bubble???

Rules for motorised bicycles

A motorised bicycle is a bicycle to which an electric motor is attached. The motor must not be capable of generating more than 200 watts of power. It is illegal to ride a bicycle on roads or road-related areas (such as paths) if the bicycle has an internal combustion engine (for example, a petrol or diesel motor) attached.

hybred three wheeled taxis

Hello all, I am usually down in the small scooter forum, but I'm thinking of entering a business venture and wonder if some of you might be able to guide me. I'm looking to purchase a couple of those three wheeled peddle taxis you see downtown and around sporting and concert venues. Is there a company here in the US that manufactures a taxi that also electric powered be it front hub or rear wheel powered? I found a US company site about a year ago, but I can't find it anymore. Not sure if I'm ready to deal with China as I'm not buying a fleet and they are kinda funky looking.

a recumbent e-bike

Saw this on youtube. Nice utilitarian design with a front fairing and a trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekAU8rGQELg&NR=1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekAU8rGQELg&NR=1

These are a lot of fun to ride.

Hi, anyone who hasn't ridden one of these should give it a go sometime.

They're awesome in so many ways.

a good electric bike

basically, im looking for an electric moped/bike that can go an average of 25(or more)mph, can last at least 25-30 per charge and has to cost less than $800 for total, including shipping. i live in san jose, california and i am having trouble finding one. please help! i researched the xb-508, good bike but i would rather have it local incase of warranty issues. i have been looking for liberty but have not found the price for it. need a good bike!!!

Perm/ PMG 080 motor on a bicycle

This will be my fourth electric bike project. I’ve done the friction drive (home built 24 Volt with warrior motors), the hub wheel drive (crystalyte 5304, 36 volt), and now the bottom bracket drive (elation bike, 24 volt). The friction drive, although it worked had too many drawbacks, many of you are familiar with. The Crystalyte 5304 motor is 25 lbs. I didn’t realize that 25 lbs rotating in the rear wheel of a bicycle ruins the handling of your bike to that extent. With batteries the whole thing just became an albatross.

An interesting approach to electrifying a recumbent

Saw this on power-assist

http://www.wisil.recumbents.com/wisil/shumaker/default.htm

Rather than go with an existing conversion kit -- he described them all as overly large and overly inefficient -- he used some R/C vehicle parts such as a tiny brushless motor that runs at over 2000 watts.
