Sprocket Help Needed PLEASE

Glad to see the forum is alive again!!!!!
I am looking for a sprocket for my powerpack "MAC" motor that will fit a bike chain.
I talked to Tim O'Brien at powerpack motors and he was VERY helpful! The bore is 12mm and it would need to fit a bike chain. Does anyone know where I might locate such a sprocket? Tim suggested that I use a #40 or #41 sprocket and bore it to 12mm, which would work but I was hoping that someone makes such a sprocket.

Pimp my Rhoades Car
The Bicycle Forest had grown to the point where we felt it was time to invest in a vehicle that we could use to get the message out about our BikeCAD bicycle design software and the wide array of specialty bicycles that we have available for rent.

Although we don't believe in psychoanalyzing people based on what vehicles they may or may not drive, we do believe that when a corporation selects a car or truck for promotional purposes, it is vital that it select a vehicle that captures the personality and spirit of the company.

more mongoose questions

Hi All,

I went ahead and ordered my very own mongoose the other day. I think there is a pretty good chance I will return it after a test ride but at $300 I just had to give it a chance. There has been a lot of talk about this particular bike recently but I have more questions:

1. What is the nature of the 15mph limit? Is this merely what the motor can do without pedal power, or will it cut off at 15mph even if I do most of the work.

2. Where is the 15mph limit implemented? I figure it must be the controller, which is a part of the motor unit, right?

Complete Newbie. Need help finding e-bike or a kit, also a whole lot of questions.

Hi, well i'm pretty new on knowing about e-bikes, but I did have a little knowledge on E-scooters. I have a Schwinn S500 which doesn't work anymore.. I think the battery is just disconnected.. But is there any way I could maybe remove the motor, controller, throttle and batteries to maybe put it on a mountain bike? Or would it take too much work? Also, what would be a good ebike or good kit to put on a mountain bike? I'm looking for a reliable, long term kind of bike.

I am a complete newbie ....please guide me

Hi folks: I'm looking at E-bikes mainly due to the fact that my truck died. I can't afford to spend big money, so my bike will be coming from a Police Auction, or something similar. I've been perusing things a bit, and it seems to me that half of the drives avialable don't free-wheel. I'm looking for a drive that can. I'm familiar with motors and speed controllers thru my interests in radio controlled planes, so I have a decent background there.

Best place to buy the $300 Mongoose 26" Electric Comfort Bike

After reading about this entry level bike, I decided to take the plunge. For those who are interested, the best place to buy appears to be Costco. Their price is $299.99 INCLUDING shipping ($80 everywhere else). Also, you can return any item back to your local Costco warehouse, rather than have to ship it back to Currie. You have to buy a Costco membership ($50) which we already had.

Mongoose 24 volt convert to 33 volt

I bought a Mongoose (made by currie) 24v with a brushed rear mounted motor from Walmart for $340. I am happy with it for what I paid for it. I figured I could sell it to a college student in this college town If I were unhappy. I changed the seat and made it a much more comfortable ride. It will out climb my trek 36 volt 12 amp bike with nimh batteries but the trek gets a a few more miles and has about 20 mph top end. I have access to 4 new dewalt M1 batteries and plan to rig them parallel to come up with 33 volts and and approximately 9 amps.
