Re: How many Vectrix reached 40.000 km?

I cannot compete at all with this, but the Vectux is still running on it's original battery pack (from 2007 or earlier, because they probably sold old, left-over Italian stock to the unsuspecting Aussies...) and it's done almost 15,000km now.

This information may be used entirely at your own risk.

Re: How many Vectrix reached 40.000 km?

I'm at 36'500km, haven't been riding much lately though, hadn't had time...

One of the conversions I did back in May was at 29'000km before conversion, so that shouldn't be far off 40'000 by now...

Re: How many Vectrix reached 40.000 km?

Not quite there - yet.
But have gone past 39,000 kms ( in three and a bit years ).
Lithium batteries upgrade six months ago - highly recommended. Has made a great difference to the useability of the bike. ' Range anxiety ' has downgraded to occasional ' Range consideration '.
Couple of days ago was an example - Went 24.5 kms from A to B, picked up a 78 kg pillion passenger ( with his back pack ) at B, and returned 24.5 kms up an 900 ft hill, complete with passenger, back to point A.
This would have been impossible on the original batteries._

Whouaah !
Wonderfull !
congratulation !
I m very impressed !
I m so happy to share with all of you this incredible sense of freedom and kind of happiness this bike CAN deliver.
I m only 10000 kms and i m considering upgrading to li . I have the chance to upgrade to 30 amps at 2700 EUR or 42 amps at 4000 hère in Belgium

In france the aftersales is a disaster almost 30 bikes are KO and vectrix behaviour is not acceptable, they offer nô solution !
The mots promising area in the world for theirvx1 and vx3 , they totally neglect theire existing customers, that could deliver the best advertising . It is really a shame !
Kind regards to all of you .
I Will do all the best to keep m'y bike a live, i Feel so different and so myself driving It.

That's the most compelling reason for me not to do the Li change.....the lack of support from Vectrix if something goes wrong with the scooter. I was happy enough to take the risk buying a 'new' one for $5200, but to spend an extra $6k or so on the conversion and then for a controller/engine/etc or something to pack up the following day is too much of a nightmare for me to contemplate.

Re: How many Vectrix reached 40.000 km?

Congratulations!
My Beloved Vectrix experienced a dead cell just after 51.2k km. The 4rth pack lasted almost 25.000 km. I'm specially grateful to The laird, thanks to his firmware some extra life was brought to my Vectrix.

One single cell (1% of the entire battery) can bring down the entire pack, reducing the range to only 3-5 km. The time of Imax B8 has come. ;-)

Well done! I'm relieved every day I get home without it breaking down! Eventually it will, and I don't know what I'll do then. I'm in Melbourne. I expect little support from anywhere if/when the bike expires.

61078kms (about 38000 miles) today and still going strong.
Well, sort off...
This Nimh pack has 39000kms (the firts two packs were fried by the fantastic original sw) and it's starting to lose some muscle.
Current range is about 40kms (25 miles) at a good speed, 60kms (37 miles) at snail speed (that's 50kms/h max speed or 30mph).
I've changed the software now to a new version by portuguese Vectrix master jmal.
It's fantastic:
1- Programmable charging speed from 1 to 12 amps (150w/h to 1800w/h);
2- Cruise control;
3- All 4 turn lights flashing for any emergency situation;
4- Faster Equalization;

Due to the slower charging speeds the pack actually cools during the charge. In the last couple of weeks max temperatures in Portugal have been around 38ºc to 40ºc (that's 100ºf plus) and the maximum temperature the pack reached was 34ºc. Not bad!

And master jmal also fitted the bike with a Xenon headlight! Finally I've got night vision. It's vital for my 5 A.M. rides :)
And I'm still waiting for something more from the master to improve my range...

Cheers

Please tell us more!

Can you select the charging current easily "on the fly" or do you need to re-program with the CanBus adaptor?

Re: How many Vectrix reached 40.000 km?

Hi Mik,

It's a 5 second operation:

1- Cut off switch;
2- Press front brake;
3- Accelerate (increase amp), regenerate (decrease amp);
4- DONE!

I have to make a video...
I've lost the abbility to cool the pack while not charging, but if I really need to cool it I just have to charge at 1 amp :)
I actually did it friday since the pack reached 37º after another 40º day in Lisbon. After 4 hours of charging the temperature decreased from 37º to 25º. Nice!

Do you know which charger is in your Vectrix? There are different types.

About the charger, I'm sure it's the old one. It's a 2008 bike.

Luca, maybe it was your red Vectrix we saw in Rome recently, the one and only electric scooter we saw during our five full days in the world capital of gasoline maxi-scooters!!! Plus a few Smart electric drive and the odd electric Minibus, all else was noisy and smelly...

No, it is not the only one, but there are not enough ... Until 2009, in Rome there was a Vectrix official store, they sold a good number ... there is also a shop E-MAX and I saw someone. I have also seen circulating C0 Citroen, Renault Twizy and Nissan Leaf, but can be counted on the fingers of one hand ... we hope will improve ... greetings.

Goevcs scooters are made in Italy - they're probably the best electric scooter in the 50cc equivalent size I have seen yet

I would expect to see a few of them around their home country
