Hmm... GM shows Chevy plug-in concept describes a concept car shown by GM. It's a hybrid electric vehicle built in a different configuration than the previous hybrid cars. In this one the motor is used only as a generator to charge the battery pack. The drive motor is an electric drivetrain.
They're claiming a 40 mile range without recharging ... on suburban streets. So that range is not highway range, but at 35 miles/hr or so.
There are now 750 Reva (also called the G-Wiz) electric cars in the UK. They are now switching to a AC motor. I'm very excited about this. To see a production EV be improved in this manner gives me hope that we may be gaining a bit of steam. A lot of compaines say they are going to build this or that but they never get more than one or two made. Here's a company that has put 750 EVs on the road and is now improving their product. Cool!
Hey all! Great to be back! While we were away I got my ZAP Xebra truck. I have also added video via YouTube to my Xebra site at http://www.xebraworld.com . There are very detailed pictures there as well as schematics for the vehicles. It's got it's issues but I'm lovin' my truck!
