Upgrade to Lithium and controller overvolting

Hi to all, I would like to add to the list of Sla to Lithium conversion my e-scooter.
It’s a scooter “low cost” similar to a XM-2000, it was a 2000W 48V 38AH, after several steps now it’s a 60V 40AH(20cells LIFEPO4 ).

Before the conversion speed was around 55KM/h (34Mi/h) now the max speed is 68Km/h (42 MI/h)

The range is really increased, it changes from a range of 50KM with a new pack of SLA at 45Km/h
to a range of 70KM with a the lithium battery.

Here you can find some picture related to the first step conversion to 16 cells (later I added 4 more cells)

And the project go on, below you'll find some news regarding the new development...

In these days I started to test the first draft version of ArduScooter 2.0.
This DIY project has these goals:
- Connect Arduino to an Android phone using bluetooth
- Receive data from Arduino to my Android phone to be stored on disk
- Display in real time data coming from Arduino sensor..

It's nice and it seem to be working!!

The big issue was to implement the connection between the two system..

Your video shows only 61,8kmh, not 68!

Either way, you can about say you get 1km/volt there.

Maybe you get the wrong video:-)
If you refer to this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIwsRz7vUOU (the first video posted), you will clearly see (look at the picture below) the spedometer is over his limits which is 40Mi/h.

I mistook the voltage meter for a speedometer.

Yes indeed. Have you managed to get similar speeds without overvolting on a bike?
If yes, what kind of engine was necessary?

Don't worry, in effect it can be confusing, I have too many instruments!! :-) Yes, the 61,8 is the voltage meter..
The speed is a mix of features, just to simplify to reach 70Km/h you need at least 2500W (there are a lot of variable that change this for example weight, cx etc..), then it depends on the number of rpm the motor is designed.
For example you can have 2 motors with the same power, but one is designed to provide a better acceleration and the second to have a better maximum speed (high torque vs hi speed motor).

After several tests at home I finally installed the Arduino bluetooth shield on my "Arduscooter" and now the communication between my Android phone and Arduino is completed.
At the moment the interface has only 1 direction: from Arduino to the phone, but this is just the first step, Android opens to a wide range of possibilities:-)
