x-treme xb-600 Speedometer

I've read on some other forums that the speedometer on the x-treme xb-600 doesn't actually tell how fast you are going but rather only indicates what the TOP SPEED WAS. What's the real story on the speedometer for the x-treme xb-600?

It's off by about 2-3mph. It reads faster than you are going.
