Mounting a GPS

In post #9 of the tread: “First CuMoCo C130 delivered to a customer,” MikeB put a great picture of the instrument panel. I am aware that changes have been made and are still being made with this panel, but I trust the basic structure of what is in this picture is unchanged.

I have a C124 on order. It is my intention to get a mounting assembly for my Magellan Meridian GPS.

Here is one complete assembly: cradle and mount.

LCD Screen - What do you want to see?

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to tell me what you want to see on the LCD screen that will replace the right most gauge on the dashboard.

It's about 1" square and 132x132 pixels. Multiple pages of display will be available (using a button to cycle between them). We've incorporated a light sensor so that it can dim at night and shine as bright as possible in sunshine.

Now, what do you want to see?

(Don't worry, I have lots of ideas - but I figured I'd ask you guys as well)

CMC partnering with Dakkota Integrated Systems to manufacture their scooters

I just noticed jdh2550_1's comment in this post about CMC "teaming with a Tier 1 auto supplier for manufacturing". A little digging on the CMC website and I found this link about their partnering with Dakkota Integrated System (Googling "Current Motor Company Dakkota" results in several press release articles).

Advice wanted for transporting C124

Hi All,

Soon (but not as soon as I would like) I will be picking up my new Maxi-Scooter from Current in Ann Arbor. The trip home will be about 250 miles. Never having hauled a scooter or cycle on a flat trailer, I am seeking advice in a couple of areas.

Where are the best points, for security and non-damage, for the tie down straps to be attached to the scooter? I will be using ratchet straps.

In attaching the straps, should I pull them tight enough to suppress the shocks? If so, how much should they be suppressed?

New C130 - Titled and Insured in Indiana

Howdy all,

Long term lurker and now a proud owner of a new green C-130 as part of the pilot program. I received my official title in the mail on Thursday from the state of Indiana with plates hopefully following in the next week. Very speedy / quick to get everything through the BMV and my local insurance so kudos to Current on making it fairly painless.

The sad part was that it had to sit in my garage for a week and a half until I could actually ride it due to time / travel commitments at work.

Titling a CuMoCo Scooter in Pennsylvania - Success!

Early this month I noticed that Current Motors correct information was finally in the NHTSA data base, so I made my third attempt at a title application. A title arrived today!

CMC Future

I'm a peace corps volunteer, and want to buy an electric scooter for graduate school (in EE). I was looking at CMC, but now I have doubts about them. I read the CMC president's interview, and he said his goal is for the company to be acquired in five years. What kind of goal is that? Did Steve Jobs have as a goal being acquired by Microsoft? Did General Motors hope to be acquired by Ford? Did Harley Davidson start out, hoping to be acquired by Yamaha some day? Seems like these guys may be in it for the bucks - get a customer base, get acquired, and run with the money.

C124 Charging Issue...

John,

The charging problem described earlier is continuing. A charge this morning completed normally, but the SOC gauge once again was below full and connecting the PC, the SOC was only 79 percent.

In this case, as before, I manually set SOC to 100% using the PC interface. But this, of course, is not a "fix" by any means.

Advice?

Paul

C124 Ordered

Hi all,

Just wanted to report in that I've ordered a C124 under the Test Pilot program and I have to say that I'm certainly looking forward to my first ride! I've been a lurker on this site for a couple of years (had considered getting a EVT-R20 when they first appeared) but haven't been a contributor yet. I'll post some pics and initial reports when the bike arrives and let you know how my winter driving goes!
