Hey everyone... not sure if this exactly the right place to introduce myself, but I figured "Advocacy" would probably be appropriate.
I recently signed on to be Director of Business Development for a new not for profit green charity - School Charging, which works to install electric vehicle charging stations at schools across the US. Obviously I'm joining up with communities to keep on top of what's happening in the EV / PHEV world and also to help spread the word on our organization.

Global Warming
I now feel that the following represents my understanding of the climate:
1) Global Warming is real, it is caused by man and popped up out of the blue.
2) The Climate naturally cycles on a 100,000 year loop and we are just seeing the natural cycle playing out and man has had no effect.
3) The Climate cycle does exist, but man has added extra energy with the introduction of extra CO2 and we need to freak out because it's going to cause "straight line global warming" when it would normally just switch to cooling.

Apparently someone drove an electric car from London to Edinborough .. then the BBC, rather than cover that person, took it upon themselves to drive a Mini-E from London to Edinborough. Nikki (below) says they used public charging points and didn't do a very good job of the trip, which ended up improperly extending the negative stereotypes. I don't know enough about the situation to comment further. She's made a call for videos from electric vehicle aficionado's to be filmed this weekend, and posted, and then tweet the video using the hash tag #electriccarrevolt

The following is a (tongue-in-cheek) public service announcement...
It seems that every now and then a die-hard dinosaur* will start posting in threads about why EV's will never work. They then throw out the same old tired old arguments. What do they expect? That the readers of this forum will slap themselves on the forehead and say "Gosh, s/he's right. EV's are a complete waste of time!".

ETD is a not for profit group for research, promotion, and education of emerging technologies related to electromotive transportation and interconnection with solar, wind, and other renewable power. We are currently setting up the non-profit and moving into a 5700 sq. ft. shop in Kent, Washington. The majority of our board of directors, and much of our management/administrative staff, are female minority stakeholders.
