Interested in an EV?
Compare electricity and gas prices here to see how much you can save. Though the cost of the battery pack is far more than the fuel, it pays to check the prices. We need to define the units of comparison first.

Hi people,
I am a newbie to the Forum and also a bit of a dummy regarding electrification of bikes?
Give me an old V8 Chevy small block and I´ll strip and rebuild, no problem. To each his own!!
Long story short, I bought a Giant Cruiser beach bike, fitted with a Crystalyte Phoenix 5303 Racer rear hub motor (48 volt, 40 amp.= 1920 watts) and an absolute rubbish Chinese LiFePO4 battery, the size of a truck SLA, that collapsed after two weeks!

Just to disclose, I am an employee of the Trikke company. That said, I am also an avid rider of both the strictly body powered line of vehicles, and the electric line of vehicles. I personally use one of the Trikke Pon-e 48v for my daily commute to work to save gas and reduce my carbon footprint. Simply said, I love, LOVE, my pon-e.

To fix the transportation system, do we really need to swap electric cars for gasoline cars?
If the only problem is oil supply & global warming then maybe all we need do is change the drive train in the cars and keep on driving cars.
I believe highways are ugly. I believe highways are a poor use of land. Fact is that each car requires 7 or more parking spaces set aside for it, which means tying up a lot of land with asphalt covering that could be put to better uses.

Lithium ion battery reuse with testing and repairing. This article can help those with Lithiumitis, the dreaded weak battery illness that will affect all of us in time. Lithium battery technology is great, but expensive, hard to repair and limited life if abused. I have used SLA for years with WE kits and they are great but heavy, limited life and capacity drops off steadily even when charged religiously.
I have been taking used lithium batteries and reject factory batteries and repairing them and using them for over two years on two bikes. The problems are:
