Tire Recommendations?

I bought a couple of 26 x 2.1 Continental Town and Country tires for my Blast. One seems to have developed a separation after only 300 miles. Noticed it at speed today about 25mph the bike gets out of shape, vibrates, and the rear squirms like riding a snake.

They were 2 for the price of one, guess I got my moneys worth. I'm not sure if I have any confidence in these and may just get 2 of some other brand rather than take a chance on another Conti to replace the bad one.

Has anyone tried the Shwalbe Big Apple 26 x 2.0?

Think they will fit in the same space as my Conti's?

Re: Tire Recommendations?

Hi Sturdly,
Haven't tried Big Apple 26 x 2.0 but I have another tyre to reccommend. The Specalised Armadilo (Not the light verson).

I've been using that on both my road bike and my mountain (commuter). Seems to handle high speed no problems and is tough as anything. I haven't tried it on an ebike (as i haven't made mine yet- still in research mode) but I and the owner of the LBS both swear by them.

Thanks for the tip Haydon.

Which model do you run, the Hemisphere or Nimbus?

Do they have a reflective sidewall?

Re: Tire Recommendations?

at the moment on my road bike i'm using this tyre: http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=6805

the specalised all condition.

on the mountain bike its the nimbus. since changing to these tyres i've never had a puncture and that includes riding on glass etc. I love these tyres. They can also be pumped very hard. I keep my road bike tyres at 100psi (120max), the Nimbus' on 100psi for low rolling resistance.

On a differnet note - how is the bike going? I'm looking at doing a conversion very soon, and interested in yours. How do you find the motor setup? is the 200W sufficient?
