An odd article today in the newspaper:

It talks about 50 year olds who are too confused by gearing on bicycles and intimidated by the spandex crowd. The bicycle companies have detected these people want to have simple bicycles for playtime, and have come up with a bicycle that detects how fast you're riding (with a computer in the front wheel) and it automatically shifts the gearing for the rider.
Seems the next step for such people is to add a small motor and battery pack. One can only hope the bicycle companies will detect that logical conclusion.
The day my gears confuse me is the day I quite riding a bike.
I have a Golden Islands brushless hub motor purchased from Wilerness energy. I am going to hook a Crystalyte controller to it and have been told that the winding and halls sensor wires won't match up. Has anyone hooked a Crystalyte controller to a Golden Islands motor?
