Electrike recumbent trike - Part #2

The second installment on an electric recumbent trike that I'm building is posted at the link below...

It covers the final gearing from the motor, and lots of welding of the front frame components (some of them twice)...

You are making serious progress with your project. At first glance, I ashamed to say, I thought the trike looked kinda junkey, but upon closer study I can see I was wrong. You've put a lot of thought and effort into the project and it seems to be coming along nicely. I'll bet once the finishing touches and some paint are put on, you'll have one very nice vehicle there. Keep up the good work. BTW, I also checked out part one and loved the first picture. "From trash to treasure " should be the title!

Bob,

Don't be ashamed, you were right, it does look junkie, but for a first attempt at such a project that was my intention... The idea of foraging as much as possible from scrap has been the real challenge.

When done, if I accomplish nothing more than just develope some better welding skills (and the ability to calculate angles to be cut with a hole-saw) I'll count it as a success.

The price of new materials is staggering, so I thought that this would be a cheap "proof of concept" project and will rectify the obvious mistakes on the next go and incorporate some ideas that I couldn't work into this one.
