Flat Forums

Hi all, I heard the cry of "We want flat forums" and so here we go.

The way it's implemented, you get to make the choice between whether you see indented or flat forums.

The way to make the choice is to click on My Account in the navigation menu, then click on Edit and scroll downward a ways. You'll find a section labeled Theme Configuration and two choices, either garland or flatgarland. The default is garland which gives indented forum browsing. To switch to non-indented (or flat) forum browsing click on the flatgarland choice. Then go to the bottom of the page and click Submit.

And while I was in there I fiddled with the color of the text which is a link. The current color makes the links stand out better but I'm not sure I like the shade of blue. I'm open to suggestions.

I also upgraded the site software from version 5 beta1 to version 5 beta2 (which was released yesterday). If you find anything missing let me know.

Well, the answer is obviously: no
:-)

David are there any options to change that?

Hmmm...

I haven't seen that kind of feature. The change I introduced last night is purely a formatting change. That is, taking the existing stuff and formatting it differently. The inner behavior of the forum software is more deeply encoded than that. And I'm sure the Drupal people are very proud of their threading algorithm .. I myself like it because it's very clear who you're responding to. With chronologically arranged replies it's often confusing who is responding to which message.

However there are drupal modules that let you glue in e.g. a phpbb board.
