HONDA CBR 600 F3 CONVERSION
My first road legal high voltage system. I wanted a sport bike and worked very hard to make it undetectable as electric. This required very complicated battery racks, and most of my hours were spent locating and fabricating a battery rack. All factory body work was retained, and very few modifications to the body work. I sold my race car, and built 2 EV's. (The CBR and the electric Kawasaki 4 wheeler.)
The very first ride is worth every penny, and every minute of time. It is a great science project that I can actually use. It is practical and pays you back every time you ride. a BIG change from the race car!
I made several mistakes, purchased some components I didn't need & fried some electronics. But the lessons learned paid off for future projects.
The best advice I can give is be patient in selecting your vehicle and components. Make sure you understand what you expect for your vehicle, and make sure those expectations are as close to real world as possible. Read the books, ask the questions. Call the manufacturer of the coponents you are selecting. I found they were all willing to help provide what you need. No EV component supplier I dealt with seemed to be after the contents of my wallet, they seemed interested in helping achive the project goals.
I wish you all great success!
Thanks to all those who contributed to my project!
