Few quick questions:
Regarding wheel size:
What would you recommend for a vehicle with about 4KW of power? It's not even close to finished yet so I have no idea how fast it will go (but I'm assuming pretty fast). 9 or 13 inch? I'm thinking 13 inch would be safer but I've seen some 9 in. wheels in a store around here I like.

I just received an email from these people: Stream Dancer ... They've designed a personal size electric boat that has a strong similarity with a sit-on-top kayak. It has a pair of electric motors and some really cool features. They have aimed it to fishermen and hunters, but I'm interested in it as a platform from which to do photography. I wrote a blog posting with a few more comments.

Well, I was just a kid, Dad took us to canoe lessons. There was about 5 of us. Mom, She was just glad to see us out of the house.
The instructer, taught us how to tip a canoe over, that was very fun.
Gosh, I was the middle kid. Dad says, "Chuck, you and me, we are going to look at a canoe. He found a 17' Forester, fiberglass, bright blue. Ole Dad says, "Son, what da ya think." I liked it, had a motor mount built into the transom. "Looks great DAD!"

Not every kid can ride a two wheeled EV. Has anyone designed other types of EV for their kids/grandkids and friends to ride?
This is apparently gas powered, but I'm sure we could build an EV one.

I just came across this in the EV Tradin Post: Electric Nanolight Trike ... the listing says "Now that electric is a hot topic in ultralights" which I'm finding rather surprising, as aircraft probably don't do well with a heavy battery pack. I expect that if the ultralight people are hot for electric, it must be with lithium batteries of some kind, right?

Well, now that I've seen an electric "railrider" I might as well post some pics of my electric kayak....my own handy work. Use two different motors small 10 lb thrust (in pics) for quiet water...and my larger 22 lb thrust for the bays and river currents. Use the same foot "slide/cables" for hands free foot steering like a kayak rudder. Batt box behind seat...hi/lo switch below seat front...fused....batt meter on the cockpit opening side. Motor releases by releasing cord that's clinched in cleat on other side of cockpit...and weight of motor lets it slide over and down into water.

Bob,
I have just electrified a "Railrider". This is a pedal powered vehicle that rides on railroad tracks. see www.railriders.net.
It carries 2 adults and weighs about 120 pounds. I used the Hi-Koll Motor.

all the rest i have running on 3's, i have another one which i tried to make 6's but it was dramatically overpowered and now sits on the shelf in the exploded configuration (tail exploded because of to much rpm, battery didnt explode) , maybe one day ill fix it up
