nimh battery cells

im putting together a nimh battery.all the cells are 1.2 volts, but some of the cells are 1500mah and some are 3000mah. will the battery pack work properly if i put them all together in one pack?

kinda complicated question.

kinda complicated question. we need more info. How big is the pack size (voltage, amp hour etc) what motor you using it with?

the battery pack will have

the battery pack will have 21 1.2V NIMH cells. the motor is a 450 watt brushless. about half the cells are 1500 and half are 3000 mah.

As I understand it there are

As I understand it there are 2 reasons why your pack wouldn't work. First is that a pack of 3 or 1.5 AH capicity will be too small give the motor what it needs - voltage would sag and they would heat up and probably die. To answer you question directly its risky to add batteries of differing capcity in a series string. say you had 10 3ah batts and 10 1.5 AH batts in series to make a 24 volt pack. When you use up more than 1.5 AH of energy half the cells are empty yet half will give out power. when discharging a battery below it capicity you can create a cell reversal which will damage it. for more info on ebke batteries see here.
