My Humpty-Dumpty Numo Cruiser :(

My teenaged sons took off the necessary parts to replace a bad tire on my Numo (which used to be Maytag's converted-to-36-volts Numo), and now they can't figure out how to put all the plugs back right to get it to work.

Does anybody have a schematic for the electrical connections?

Alternatively, would anybody in the SF Bay Area with the knowhow be willing to put it back together for a reasonable fee?

Failing that, anybody want to buy it and fix it for themselves ? LOL (which would serve my boys right for not fixing it themselves, grumble grumble)

please email me at mmeahan at sonic dot net if you can offer any help.

Thanks!

Good luck with getting it wired back up. Hopefully you can get it running and the boys can have a learning experience.

To assure proper reattachment of things, in the future you can do a couple of things to help keep things matched up. First a couple of digital pictures are always a good way to start. Second marking the corresponding wires or both parts of connectors with tape and a written mark goes a long way also.

As an example look closely at this, you can see the marks on both the chain rings. Since I match drilled these two parts they will only bolt together one way. Single mark lines up with single mark, double mark with double....well you get the idea.

Get that boys? Next time a little more careful with the disassembly. But don't stop trying as that is the best way to learn.

I don't think that's the problem. They have worked with other electrics (scooters and bicycles), gas powered go karts, gas motor scooters, and my car, and they know how to be careful and how to leave their trail of bread crumbs, especially my 19YO (who also does all of my home and appliance repairs that he can figure out how to do from his home improvement and repair encyclopedia set and his handyman magazines). I think at this point their problem was that they played tag-team, they waited a while before they put it back together, and (which is the only real thing I am faulting them for) they didn't come here and ask for help themselves like I told them they should.

From the horse's mouth: "The only things I unplugged were for the turn signals and brake lights."

So it is probably something simple that they are overlooking.

Ask Maytag. He's close by too.
The brake switches lockout the throttle, so they might try disconnecting the brake switch wires and see if that makes it run.

I would have asked him already, but I don't have his email address any more. You wouldn't happen to have it, would you? (Or Joystix's, which is his brother?) I'd really appreciate getting it if you do.
