Re: chucks "cheetah"
Looking Good Chuck!
How are those M-16 lights working out for you?
Do they tap into your reserve much?
You can get some nice lightweight fenders for all that rain, I'll be investing is both lights and fenders before this Fall.
I just realized that we have the same battery capacity - 864 Wh ... it's heavy but worth it for the range IMO.
I envy the suspension that you have though, mine's a hardtail with CrMo rigid front forks.
My top speed is now 24+ but any faster and I'd want some suspension and disc brakes.
Nice Ride! Ya done good Chuck!!

Re: chucks "cheetah"
Dave, Dave,
MR16's,, not m-16s,, Richardson police probably not to friendly to bikes with a pair of m16's on board.
This was my only trip with the lights, charger died the night these pictures were taken. The lights work great, I found 24 volt bulbs at Lowes, they are designed for water fountains. If you go this route on lighting, make sure your beam angle on the bulbs is less, mine are 38 degree, probably less than 15 degrees would work well. These lights are extremely easy to make, about $15 a light including the pigtails, probably 1/2 that if ordered on line.

LOL ... :D
No, probably not ... I know in Fort Worth, they didn't even like the fact that I had a light switch for my license plate lights on my little Austin Healey Sprite ... I had forgotten to turn the switch on and they stopped me ... I said "Oh, there ya go" and switched it on ... they weren't impressed, wrote me a ticket and suggested that I keep moving on down the road.

Re: chucks "cheetah"
Chas,
After the video of Dave succesfully clearing that chain link fence, I'll let you ride. First things first, understand?
chuck
ps, Chas, Chas is my nickname, but, you were here first. I had a coach in high school pin that on me, I can't go back to Iowa for a visit and find some one who calls me Chuck! In Texas, they call me "Yankee"

Re: chucks "cheetah"
There was this big city Attorney,
Bought a real fancy shotgun. Paid good money for a place way out in the country, where He could hunt some ducks. He paid a local to put up a real nice comfy blind near the water so He could have nice spot.. Come opening day, here comes a duck, The big city Attorney jumps up, and shoots, and shoots again, and, on his third try, gets the duck. The duck falls just over the fence on the neighboring Farmers' property. The Attorney jumps the fence to get the duck just as the Farmer comes strolling down the fence line. The Farmer picks up the duck and starts walking away. The Attorney yells, "hey, thats my duck." The Farmer says, "not in this county." The Attorney says, "I'll sue you." The Farmer looks at the Attorney and says, "in this county we kick, I kick you 3 times, then you kick me 3 times, ya give up, ya lose the duck. The Attorney agree's and the Farmer kicks Him right in the knee, as the Attorney is rolling on the ground the Farmer gets a couple a more good kicks in. The Attorney gets up and says "Alright, now its my turn." The Farmer hands the Attorney the duck and says, "Nah, I give up."
I guess ya got me beat Dave, Chas gets the ride.

Re: chucks "cheetah"
Chuck/Chas,
My wife says Iowa is a great place to be from and she should know she is from Oxford Junction, so the next time we head that way I'll be looking for my ride. LOL
Dave
I like your ramp I think even my bike could clear the Chain Link Fence with it. I am sure your bike will only need half of it to clear.... LOL
You guys did such a great job on your bikes I know what I will be working on this weekend. I can't let you two have all the fun. My modified Merida needs it's DeWalts to compete with the bikes you all have created.
Ride on,

Re: chucks "cheetah"
One of the best parts of this forum is when someone is building something. I really like watching the progress of a build..
I had lurked around the old V,, in fact, I went backward and read every single post. A year ago I could'nt comment, I did not have any experience. I was just getting ready to post my build on the old V, In fact, on the day it went down,, A friend of mine had to come over to fix my computer, that was a nasty virus.
I have to look up to the sky, and wonder and ask, "Why" why would someone do that.
It took me awhile to find where everyone went. I had pics. of my build, but no learning on what pics. to take and what to say. It was hard to re-create my posts months after they were done, no way to take another picture of a bad shot.
Then, all of a sudden, there is M16, I mean M1e, no it's MB-1-E building my bike. That is really what it took to get me to post, someone building something that I had experience on..
Chas, don't be surprised if I don't comment on your build, because I don't have previous experience on what you are building, I will just sit back and enjoy. If you plan on jumping fences, get with Dave, I think He's got a pretty slick solution.

Re: chucks "cheetah"
Chas,
I think that was Chuck's plan and I nearly fell for it ...
... I was even starting to research what might be the best camcorder to get ...
... then the problem-solver in me kicked in ...
Hey, that's a Nice Ride!
That BB Drive with 4 speed Nexus has got to be sweet, are the DeWalts going to sit where the lead is now? I'm interested in seeing some pics ...
Chuck,
Hope that knee's ok ... ;)
Liked the joke ... and the pics!
