I am looking at a DUAL MOTOR SETUP for a Currie scooter. Which one would be more faster and have more torque, running at 36 volts ?? 48 Volts ??
1. Dual motor setup with 2 of the POWERPACK brushless motors and single controller.
2. Dual motor setup with 2 of the new 1000watt schwinn motors and upgraded controler.
What kind of speeds are we estimating to get with these setups ?? Thanks for any info and opinions.
You might have trouble running two powerpack motors with a single controller. I'm running a single one with forced-air cooling at a power level equal to about two motors (using a modified controller).
You could run two 1000w schwinn motors with a single controller. A single one with a new controller seems to have really good power. Both of these are at 48v.
Depending on gearing, you could expect over 30mph on flat ground and still have decent hill climbing power. I prefer slower gearing to maintain super hill climbing power (lots of hills around here).
Since the POWERPACK motors are brushless I was told I would really need to run 2 controllers, one for each. I am thinking of running the DUAL Schwinn 1000watt BRUSHED motors instead. Can anyone that is running the dual motor setup kit tell me if the motors are running in parallel or series as an example:

1. Sharing 40amps and running 20amps max each ??
2. Both running 40amps each for a total of 80amps ??
