That's the Eilean/G2!!

This machine was unveiled at the NEDRA pre-season opener in Las Vegas January 2004.

That was the first time that Ken Trough -and most of the EV community- had ever seen it! The last I heard, Stevil_Knevil had the lock to his garage cut, and this machine was stolen! It's obviously been re-painted, but I'd recognize it anywhere. I believe that Ken has been up to no good.

Evolve Motor Works is has build a prototype front wheel drive recumbant three wheel motorbike called the Eilean/G2 that has a top speed of over 45mph. It is designed to lean in curves ("a leaner") which gives it exceptional stability for a three wheel design. The bike is powered by a LiIon battery pack but they are also testing with other battery configurations including a 72 volt PbA pack that they expect will provide a range of about 45 miles at a constant 25mph on a level road.

That was not a ad for Ken, again if you read it correctly, it was a post from the old site at the top of the page in the Administration and Advocacy area. It was only a article from a newspaper, and not a advertisement of any sort. You probably should file a complaint with the THE BELLING HAM HERALD for running a advertisement in disguise claiming it was news about EV's.

With all due respect to Gman, the least bit of research will help to illustrate my point that Ken had NOTHING to do with the inception, or the development of the G2.. but he would really like for us to believe that he did. Walk with me a short while.

There was a police report filed in Sonoma County, Ca. late 2004 that will confirm my statement. This statement is *not* hearsay, it is a sad fact that happens to be part of public information. There was a post by Stevil_Knevil on the old VforV, asking for people to be on the look-out for this vehicle as it had been stolen. Oddly, this post was soon removed by Ken "Outlaw Turbologist" Trough himself.

Leaning three wheelers are (IMHO) the most promising.

I'm developing a leaning three wheeler design (1 front, 2 back), where
the rear wheels are on independent swing arms allowing for a very
dramatic lean in the corners. In fact, it leans SO well, than on a test
ride I whipped it around a narrow 90° corner at about 20 mph without
braking. My follow-up rider was on an electric mountain bike and very
nearly crashed as she was unable to follow my line at that speed.

Our trike has no problems coming out of a tilt thanks to the way the
rear independent swing-arms were designed. In fact it leans so easily,
we're going to put in a manual leaning lockout at so that if the rider
is just creeping along, the rear swing arms can be locked, making the
vehicle act like a fixed upright trike while maintaining rear
suspension.

We got this idea from the Ecomobile which is an enclosed two wheel
design that deploys stabilizer wheels at low speeds to increase low
speed stability and ease of balance the rider retracts them when speed
reaches a certain point.

Our trike prototype is currently on display as part of a major museum
exhibit in Bellingham, Washington, representing the electric future of
motorcycles. It is located in the Whatcom Museum Arco Exhibits building
till almost the end of the year.

I know that my opinion is hardly any sort of proof or scientific
documentation, but my expereinces with high performance go-karts, cars,
cycles, and now leaning trikes leads me to believe that a leaning trike
design, properly configured, will be able to out corner ANYTHING else,
and we intend to PROVE that by putting our prototype into production in
several different sizes and letting people decide for themselves.

It's all about optimum weight placement in the corner combined with
three solid contact patches.

The Whatcom Museum in Bellingham Washington (Ken's hometown) had the G2 on display as part of their, "MOTORCYCLING: The Good, The Bad and The Custom" display. I have a copy of a letter written by the curator of the Museum stating that, "..the G2 was stolen from (Steven Muskarelli) and does not belong to the person who loaned us the G2 for our exhibit." Yet another dot.

What does this all mean? Why were the contributions of so many people lost to the apparent hacking of "Dr. Cracker"? Is it within the realm of possibility to believe that someone might benefit if all of the information from VisforV was lost? Well, Gman apparently has never heard of Stevil_Knevil or the Eilean project.. guess what?! Another (rather large) dot.

So I started connecting these dots, which began to draw a picture. Anybody care to guess what it looks like? I should warn you -it's not very pretty.

But you're not telling the whole story

There were several other exchanges which happened that tell a different side
to the story, a side you're not presenting. But to be clear I am not trying
to defend Ken, nor Steve nor the mysterious employer dude which I'll discuss
below. I don't know the real truth of the story, but I did witness other
details to the story and want to have them presented as well.

The first interesting exchange happened one day with a craigslist posting
which I saw. It described a service for building electric racing pocketbikes,
and the service sounded a heck of a lot like Steve. So I posted on the old
VV board a "Hey Steve, this sounds like you" sort of posting. Instead of Steve
replying this other guy replied saying he was Steves employer, and that he had
posted that as a trial balloon to see if they could make a business of building
racing electric pocket bikes.

BTW, we all knew that Steve was being supported by someone to build electric
vehicles. This someone was said by Steve to be appreciative of Steve's skill
at building EV's.

Another exchange happened shortly after Steve's posting asking for help to
retrieve the G2 bike. That same mysterious employer dude came on saying that
Steve had not been performing up to par. That the "stealing" of the G2 bike
was in reality an employer retrieving work done by an employee. That Steve
did not own the work, he was simply an employee. And that Steve knew very well
why the G2 had been retrieved, and that Steve knew very well where the G2 was
located.

The last exchange happened long after Steve had disappeared from the universe so
long as the VV members knew. I had seen a newspaper article describing the
development of the G2, and that this was now based in Bellingham WA. I think
they mentioned Ken or Zortch by name. In any case I posted on the old VV
board a "Ken, what's up" posting. Ken explained that he had become employed
by this same mysterious employer dude to continue the work Steve had been
doing. And they were intending to sell the G2 commercially.

I want to remind y'all, I'm not Ken, not Steve, not the employer dude, and I'm
not defending any of them. I am merely relating the additional information
which I witnessed.

That is definitely the G2 as posted by Stevil_Knevil.

As I witnessed it: Bluebushido was the anynomous investor. He made less than ten posts. One of his posts related his side of the story inwhich he said he contributed XX amount of money for research and development. Claimed ownership of the product. Attempted to claim said product. Commented about Stevil_Knevil claiming an affliction to alcoholism, no receipts for services or purchase of items needed for the G2, and warned others against any business contact with Stevil_Knevil.

This is the second time that I had witnessed a business transaction on the V forum that the associated parties had to resort to broadcasting their interactions for everyone to read.

I take several things from this and among other things that dont seem legit on the V forums:
1. dont go into a business transaction with anyone online without a good contract clarifying all parties involvement (this includes sending prototypes)
2. dont broadcast your "interactions" with the other parties on an open forum because then other forum member's comments will create further turmoil
3. save the pages when the other party does broadcast for posterity and libel purposes

Regarding Steve Muskar / Muskarelli

AHEM...

(IN CASE ANYONE CARES...)

When I first met Steve in 2001, I gave him a black BMW K75s motorcycle, as a friendship gift. It was a clean '88 with 22K miles (in great condition) that had heated hand-grips, three-piece luggage set, MotoLights, Baumeister rear-sets & an aftermarket rear shock. Before he agreed to do any work with me, I had given him that bike as an outright, no-strings-attached gift, just to let him know that I was serious and not some flake.

Here's an interesting email (below) that Steve Muskar sent to me a little over two years ago. He confirms that we had a contract for him to build two (2) prototype vehicles. He admits that he couldn't do it (too daunting) and asks me to continue supporting him despite his failure(s) and emotional issues that made him difficult to deal with. He apologized for being "ultra irritable" lately. The only reason for his personality changes that I can see would be meth and alcohol. Anyone who has met Steve in person has probably noticed how his teeth are rotting out of his head. This is really common with meth users, due to how the drug changes body chemistry. If you don't believe me, just take a good look at his mouth sometime.

Incidentally, I don't say this to be mean or cruel. Steve has a serious problems of addiction and dependency that many people suffer from. Rather than indulge him in his sickness, I prefer to confront him with his problem so he will have to find some help. I encourage other people to be objective with him as well.

One of the issues that was problematic with Steve was that he wasn't happy with the idea that the project was a group collaboration. He would often tell me that "other than your supplying all of the money, you have nothing to do with the project", even though I was out in the shop every day and running the operation. I thought that everyone knew the obvious; if you supply the money, you have the final control over the outcome. So I didn't argue with him about his notions. When I rolled up the project, Steve had already given up on going any further. In retrospect, he had been one of the most surly, uncooperative and difficult people I had ever encountered. He also could not account for a sizeable chunk of missing project funds either.

The first major issue I had with Steve was when he spirited away the G2 and had it painted beige. I wanted it to be a bright color to attract attention. Steve, being an introvert, wanted it painted beige though. He got his own way on this issue, but I was not pleased by the betrayal. In January of 2004, he had an emotional meltdown where he asked me to take everything I had provided, including the G2, and just leave and get out of his life. The next day, he recanted and apologized for being out of his mind.

A month later, for no real reason that I could see, Steve alienated our web-designer over content on the website. This wasn't acceptable, since he had given his word that he would accept whatever was produced. After that, his productivity fell off drastically and he began staying up all hours of the night. When I tried to bring in outside help, he refused to cooperate. He was invested in keeping every penny of project money for himself; but he wasn't really interested in making the project go forward. This would be a problem for anyone, in my opinion.

My experience with Steve was on a day to day basis for several years. Over that time, he started to relate to me like I was his father because it seemed like I was providing him with so many things that his father had not given him. Over the course of a few years, I watched him struggle and scratch his head and screw up the most basic challenges. I have to admit that Steve did a beautiful job of making simple things very complicated. But after blowing ten months of time and money, he admitted that trying to copy his own work was so daunting that he just had to gave up. (He states that in his email).

If you read the email below, it defines the whole situation perfectly. I gave Steve a very favorable opportunity. He screwed things up with alcohol and drugs and embezzlement and now he wants sympathy and to be seen as a martyr.

You are correct, I had an agreement with you to build two new and improved versions of the Eilean, including one for you, if you chose to support their development.

The original plan of building two chassis simultaneously was a daunting task due to the sheer volume of frame peices. It was determined that it would be much more feasible to focus on one, the G2, for the time being.

After its completion and testing, I identified some areas in the basic design that needed improvement-

-More power for improved acceleration
-More power for hill-climbing
-Improved leaning ability

While the Pocketbikes may have seemed like a distraction, they were valuable little test-beds for a new swing arm/motor assembly design. This directly relates to the improvements that I wanted to integrate into the G3.

I had theorized that a motor mounted in front of the pivot point of a rear swing arm would minimize unsprung weight, and the evil handling that comes with it. Additionally, It would theoretically provide the necessary constant chain tension for 360 degrees of swing arm travel.. although 90 degrees would be plenty of travel for the leaners.

The red X1 that I built with the little e 36 mounted forward of the swing arms' pivot point proved that this theory was a solid one. It performed just as expected. This was the first time, that I am aware of, that this kind of construction had been done. A new, sub-invention.

The black X2 was born on the heels of this experiment/discovery.
The PockEtek proved that these cheap SuperBike components could not only hold up to the brute power of the Briggs motor, they were also potent little race bikes.

It occured to me that not only did this new invention address the points that I felt needed improvement/integration into the Eilean project, it was a totally new type of machine AND a unique product.

The new X6 SuperBike is built with ten inch wheels (DOT approved tires could be fit onto these) and hydraulic disc brakes! I have been planning to integrate a pair of these new rear-end wheel assemblies, with the PockEtek motor mounting arrangement, into the G3. The majority of the parts needed to compleat it have been collected. This new design would include all of the improvements that I feel the design needs, AND allow for regen braking.

I'm sorry that I have become so ultra irritable lately. I have been needing to break-away from everything to refresh my outlook and attitude. I'm afraid that I may have forgotten how to relax, and now it looks like I have inadvertantly driven you away. It's plain to see that you are feeling burnt by the whole experiance, and thirsty for legal revenge.

I would respectfully request that you re-consider leaving me and the project.
You are a valuable friend and ally, and I have always intended to honor my part of our bargain. I really hope that there is still an opportunity to do so.

While attending a Christmas party at Jim McGreens' house in Alameda this last Saturday, I was treated to seeing and holding a lithium-ion battery pack that Bob Schneevis had designed, built, and brought along to show.
This is one of the most important and exciting developments in recent history for EVs. The total cost of components was around $300, and took Bob about 15 minutes to assemble once the parts were made, and the L-ions were gathered.

My faults are obvious. Despite having had braces, I've always had horribly crooked teeth. The dentist pulled one out to make room for my bucked teeth when I was 11, and one was knocked-out when I crashed in a BMX race when I was 13. But then, you knew that because I told you. Interesting how you tried to use this information against me.. loathsome actually.

Your faults are not so obvious, though. I began to understand them a little better when you let it slip that you were faking a disability to collect SSI. Later, when I discovered that your best friend was a lawyer who had helped you file several frivolous lawsuits resulting in many $$$$ paid in settlements just to make you go away -I had *serious* suspicions. But THEN you decided that it was time to add psychology to your repertoire. So, you went and found yourself a "girlfriend" on match.com -who just happened to be a professional psychologist- to give you private lessons.. with benefits. Extra points for creativity, but you still should have been a monkey.

Now you're trying to present to this forum that you are the brains behind the Eilean project, and that I took a bunch of money from you.. but didn't bother to provide a shred of proof of either claim?! That figures.

Why? What are you hiding? Your choice of words belies you true nature. I kept the receipts for all the money that I spent building the G2, and a pile of pictures to prove my position. Now you're throwing around conjecture and innuendos like a monkey throws poop?! Whatever, monkeyboy. Ask your psychologist girlfriend if you might be a pathological lier.

Fabricating stories seems to be your only skill-set, Peter. Your goal has been to profit what what you see as a growth industry -just like your fellow back-stabbing associate; Ken Trough.

You asked for proof...

After reading that last post, I couldn't help but feel highly complimented because you confirm, over and over, that you believe that my intellect and reasoning is vastly superior to yours. I already knew that; but thanks anyway!

I know that the deputy who you spoke to told you the same thing that he told me, with regard to your complaint. He said it was definitely a civil matter because of what you had told him. You said to him that I had paid for the things that you were claiming to be stolen. That's why it isn't a criminal matter.

Since you sent me an email admitting that you had failed to meet your end of the contract, you would not prevail in a civil action (ever). That explains why you keep trying to get people to accept a preliminary police report like it's an official document. You have no recourse except for abusive propaganda that you rely on others to believe for it to be effective.

The real issue, with regard to your hurt feelings, frustration and anger, is that you have no way to access your talent on your own, unless someone is guiding you. Let's face it. You were out of work and failing when I gave you the chance to work with me. You can make all of the sweeping claims of talent and creativity about yourself that you want. But won't change the fact that you don't have the independence to produce on your own. So I can see why you are so frustrated with yourself.

Without my direct involvement, the G2 wouldn't have been made. That's obvious. In the email you sent me, that I posted here yesterday, you ask me to keep the funds coming (even though you weren't producing). You confirmed that you had a contract that you failed to make good on. You explained the reasons why you couldn't do it (they were lame ones). When I considered how abusive you were, along with the glaring, physical failures, it made a lot of sense to terminate the relationship.

You might have talent in your little finger, but you need someone to tell you what to do with it in order for it to be worth anything. You sound like you have delusions of grandeur, to be candid (like I always am).

You mentioned something about proof, so here is another email that you sent me in 2004 that proves that your facts are distorted. When I demanded a financial audit, you got right on it and sent me this email. It doesn't reflect the true amounts, but it proves that you aren't very good at deception these days, because it contradicts your statement about it having been "your" money that you spent. If it was your money, you would not have to comply with an audit request from me, now would you? But you did.

Oddly, the header of this email you sent me reads:

"Account of physical contributions received by me, from Peter Bettendorff"

Read it and weep...
