Greenland is melting, the polar bears are an endangered species, the seas are heating up, the sky isn't falling yet so not all is lost.

Everybody walk!
Not sure we can change global warming and I do not buy into the politics that blame us for it. The Earth has been much hotter then this before and that was before the world was industrialized.
We can keep the air cleaner to breath however I am for that.

Hi All,
Please read my article on Google knol, explaining that greenhouse gas abatement by riding an electric bicycle instead of driving an automobile can be extremely cost-effective. Driving a hybrid car costs the driver about $100 per ton of CO2 abated, but riding an electric bike saves the rider between $446 and $2332 per ton abated.

Er... Global Climate Destabilization
Warmer Antarctica Shows Climate Changing on Every Continent
Humanity's impact on climate has been detected on every continent except Antarctica, or so said the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in February 2007. No longer: scientists, comparing decades of records from 17 Antarctic weather stations with computer simulations of Earth's climate, found that human-induced global warming has been heating up the continent that is home to the South Pole, as well.

Judge gives red light to green cabs in NYC
A federal judge blocked the city Friday from requiring all new taxicabs to be fuel-efficient hybrids, hampering Mayor Michael Bloomberg's ambitious goal to make all yellow cabs green by 2012.
The preliminary ruling, released a day before a Saturday deadline, decided the regulations were pre-empted by federal law.

Oil Mafia: If the storm didn't do any damage, how can we raise prices again? Hmmmm... What? What's that, you say? There is damage - and a lot of it? 52 platforms were destroyed... excellent! Uh, I mean bummer. That's going to mean fuel shortages again and higher prices. LOL! Uh, I mean damn.

Elderly turtle pair fails to produce offspring
SUZHOU, China - She's around 80 years old. He's 100. Breathless scientists watched as the world's most endangered turtles successfully mated.
But the attempt to breed the species' last known female with the last known male in China has failed because the eggs didn't hatch, disappointed conservationists said Saturday.
The elderly pair can try again next year, part of a delicate attempt to keep the species alive.

I was guessing that the EV's would soon put the Oil Companies out of business. Chrysler just announced that they were coming out with their own line of EV's for sale by the end of 2010.
I was also saying that the car companies would have to compete with Tesla, only I thought it would be the real high end sports cars like Ferrari or Lamborghini not Chrysler's all-electric sports car.
It looks like they may have solved the reason EV's never made it before, no one wanted a underpowered, short ranged, could not refill, golf cart.
Deron.
