Another NiMH -> Leaf Battery upgrade

OK, so I got this bike at auction, it was not moving so it only cost $500 (yet registration each year is a significant portion of that price). I hoped it was just a dead battery and when I got it home as documented elsewhere I was able to hook a charger to it and bring the voltage of the pack high enough so the built in charger would charge it.

I rode it for some time but eventually had a breakdown and had to tow it home. I then decided to fix it and upgrade it since I didn't wanna take it apart multiple times.

FreedomEV's VX-1 Aero Mods

Starting this thread so Jerry/FreedomEV can document his scooter's aero mods (similar to what Ben Nelson did with his aero-modded Vectrix for an event called Loop the Lake a number of years ago).

Where to dispose of NiMH cells

I did a Leaf cell conversion last year and I have the old NiMH pack to dispose of.
Any ideas on where to dispose of it? It's too much for the normal battery recycling stations at retailers like Lowe's, etc.
But not enough to do a bulk ship to a recycler. (At least not without a huge charge for the shipping package.)
I'm in SE PA.

flood victim VX-1 available for FREE in SE PA

I got this from ElectricLou in 2015.
Been taking up space in my garage and now I'm thinking about moving, so it has to go.
It has all the electrics in it, but they surely didn't survive the flood. (Hurricane Sandy at the Jersey Shore, so it was flooded with salt water. ElectricLou said the water did not get high enough to flood the charger.) He said the bike was flushed with fresh water immediately after and soaked with WD-40, so frame and other metal parts should be fine.

Is anyone else still checking this site?

I feel such a fool every day when I look for new messages here.

Has everyone taken their bike out of storage and gotten it charged enough to turn on? Spring is here. It's time to start rolling.

This is the year I hope to finally make the conversion to Leaf batts, and employ my old NiMH batts for solar storage at the house/cabin. It's mostly just needing to pop the old batts out and put the new tested batts in, very heavy.

What are you guys doing with your bikes?

Display voltage while running

Hi, I'm running 19 Leaf modules with the latest Dugas firmware. There is no BMS (so far), so I'm a bit blind on a voltage monitoring. I balanced cells prior to installation and measured the remaining capacity. I set it aproximately in the Dugas VX1 configuration GUI. However, I still want to monitor a voltage while running a bike to see if I'm approaching cutoff. I know there is a combination that shows a current instead of the main clock, I somehow switched it on several times. Is there a way to see a voltage?

VX-1 J1772 port, extra charger, Givi airflow windshield and seat mod

Winter is here so it's mod time. I added a J1772 socket just below the tail light to make it easier to plug into Level 2 public chargers. It was originally an adapter from Tuscon EV so it had the resistor and diode to turn on the charge station already. There is plenty of room to mount the socket and the wire comes out in the under seat storage. The adapter had #12 wire so I split that into two # 14-3 conductor cords with plugs on the ends so I can plug in the onboard charger and/or my extra 2000 watt portable charger.
