I need to record phase current whilst riding to get a baseline for a working motor, to compare against a suspect one.

Hi All

I have a vectrix that seems to eat motor controllers (internal IGBT failures)

It's back with me as it's not going again

encoder disc was damaged, so that has been replaced

however, I don't have an easy way to test the motor

The bike behaves as though it's down a phase (most likely a dead MC again, though I won't know for sure until I remove it)
this is the 3rd motor controller in around a year.

I'm wondering how I would test for shorted turns inside the motor, as being my only theory as to what could cause early IGBT failure

My Vectrix has about 11,000 miles on it; I generally only drive it a few times a month.
On two recent rides, I noticed a slight hesitation in the first mile of the ride affecting both acceleration and regen, but both times it quickly disappeared and the rest of the ride was fine. One time I thought I caught a whiff of something burning.
Then on Monday it completed died while climbing a small hill a few miles from home:

I inadvertently left my Vectrix VX1 switched on for a few months and now have nothing on turning the key.

I have read that it is possible to use a radio control model aircraft NiMH charger to resurect the batteries.

Can anyone suggest such a charger and how to do it please?

Hi Guys

I thought I would share with you my resurrected Vectrix that has been sitting dead for years now.

It now has 1140 x ICR18650-25C cells (2500mah) in a 30P38S configuration. Total capacity 75ah or about 10.5kw/h

Minimum voltage is 104.5, max is 159.6

Apologies in advance for being long-winded, but I figure I'm not the only one who will experience these same issues as the Vectrix software programs keep getting older...
